What a fantastic Wednesday morning our Reception classes had with Animals Anonymous! ππ¦ππ¦
Students had the opportunity to meet and interact with a range of native animals, including snakes, a baby crocodile, quokkas, a tawny frogmouth, sugar glider, gecko and monitor lizard.
This exciting incursion tied in beautifully with our Biology Science unit, where students are learning to group animals based on their external features. Through hands-on experiences, students explored how animals can be classified by what they look like, their body coverings, and their unique characteristics.
There were so many smiles, questions and curious minds at work, a wonderful way to bring learning to life!

Last week, Mrs Hamidi's Year 1/2 class enjoyed an excursion to Glenthorne National Park.
Students explored the rich Kaurna history of the area and learned how the land has changed over time. They discovered why Glenthorne is being restored and revegetated to support native plants, animals and biodiversity. The class also explored the many ways the park is used today for conservation, recreation and learning. Students finished the day with a science scavenger hunt, putting their understanding of pushes, pulls and sound into practise.

Today St Bernadette's joined schools across Australia for National Simultaneous Storytime π¦π
Our Year 6 leaders headed out to younger classes to read this year's book - Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller - bringing the story to life for our littlest learners. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of reading, and of the role our older students play as leaders and role models in our community.
As we mark the beginning of Reconciliation Week, some classes wove Kaurna language into the story - translating the characters and key words into the language of the Country we learn on β€οΈ
