Fossilised Marsupial tracks at Kangaroo Island South Australia. They include Diprotodons, kangaroos, thylacines and Tasmanian devils.
Interestingly they are largely all heading in the one direction.... away from the ocean.
How to interpret it?
Possibly a mass retreat from sudden ocean rise at the end of the ice age which followed the flood. The same ocean rise that cut off Tasmania and all the animals and people who had walked there.

Relatively common Turritella gastropods.
Perhaps the most interesting point is that the geology consists of tertiary rocks sitting on Cambrian rocks which is called an unconformity. It means if you use the currently accepted dating there is 500 million years of rock layers missing. How does that happen?
Let's just say that that is a heck of a lot of time missing!

132 homeschool students and parents came to our session in beautiful Hahndorf on "What do Fossils Really Tell Us". Plus another 40 or so for an evening session kicking off our Sth Australian road trip.
The favourite fossils appeared to be the Megalodon teeth but the Jellyfish like Eldonia fossil plate was also popular. The question posed is how do you fossilize a jellyfish? ..... Answer: quickly.
Also great to chat with Wayne Phillips today on commercial radio Flow FM, about what we are doing.

All loaded up again with about 300kg of fossil displays for presentations across South Australia and Western Victoria over the next month. 100 school students tomorrow in the Adelaide Hills.
Ferry across to Victoria last night was a nice smooth voyage and we are now nearly at the South Australian border at time of posting.

THE LOST SQUADRON AND A YOUNG EARTH

In 1942, during World War II, six P-38 fighter planes and two B-17 bombers were forced to land on the Greenland ice sheet. The crews were rescued, but the planes were abandoned. Fast forward to the 1980s, researchers went looking for them. They expected to find the planes sitting just under a little snow. Instead, they were stunned to discover the aircraft buried beneath 250 feet of solid ice in only 46 years.

Now, think about what this means. Evolutionary scientists claim the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets are hundreds of thousands, even millions, of years old, with ice cores supposedly representing all that time. But the Lost Squadron proves how rapidly snow and ice can accumulate. If a few decades can bury planes hundreds of feet deep, how much ice could build up in a few thousand years?

The evidence is clear. These massive ice layers do not require vast ages. They fit perfectly within the biblical timeframe of a young earth and a post Flood Ice Age just a few thousand years ago. The Lost Squadron is not just a war relic. It is a testimony that deep ice does not demand deep time.

On this day in 1968, Apollo 8 becomes the first spacecraft to leave the Earth's gravitational pull and reach the moon. The crew orbited 10 times before landing home successfully on December 27, 1968. Astronauts Frank Borman, James Lovell, and William Anders became the first people to see the far side of the moon. During their six days in space, the crew made multiple broadcasts. Speaking 40 years later Frank Borman said of the Christmas Eve broadcast, “We were told that on Christmas Eve we would have the largest audience that had ever listened to a human voice.” They were instructed, “from NASA was to do something appropriate.” They read the story of Creation from the book of Genesis. They then added, “And from the crew of Apollo 8, we close with good night, good luck, a Merry Christmas and God bless all of you—all of you on the good Earth.”

This stamp was issued on May 5, 1969 to commemorate the mission of Apollo 8.

Merry Christmas!

Your skeleton isn’t just scaffolding—it’s a dynamic, intelligent design that gives you strength, movement, protection, flexibility, and even produces what keeps you alive: your blood. Here are 10 more fascinating things about your skeleton:

1️⃣ Your bones never stop renewing.
Every decade, your entire skeleton replaces itself. Old bone is broken down by osteoclasts, while osteoblasts build fresh bone. This process adapts to diet, hormones, and activity—meaning your skeleton is constantly upgraded.

2️⃣ The tiniest bone can hear a pin drop.
The stapes in your middle ear is smaller than a grain of rice, yet it flawlessly transfers sound vibrations to your inner ear so you can hear.

3️⃣ Bone beats steel in strength.
In terms of weight, bone is stronger than steel. A single cubic inch of bone can withstand about 19,000 pounds of pressure, thanks to a perfect blend of minerals and collagen.

4️⃣ Your skeleton is a blood factory.
Red marrow inside certain bones churns out millions of blood cells every second—fueling your immunity, oxygen transport, and clotting systems.

5️⃣ Your hands are masterpieces of precision.
With 27 bones each, your hands are built for dexterity, capable of everything from delicate needlework to symphonies on a piano.

6️⃣ Bones double as a mineral vault.
They store nearly all your calcium and phosphorus, releasing them exactly when your body needs them for nerves, muscles, or clotting.

7️⃣ Your spine is both fortress and spring.
Composed of 33 vertebrae, it’s strong enough to support you yet flexible enough to absorb shocks and allow complex motion.

8️⃣ Light yet mighty.
Although incredibly strong, bones only account for 15% of your body weight because of their hollow, honeycomb structure.

9️⃣ Bones learn from your lifestyle.
Exercise reshapes your bones—running, lifting, or jumping literally sculpts them stronger and denser to match the challenge.

🔟 The femur is an engineering marvel.
Your thigh bone can carry 30 times your body weight, enabling the force behind walking, running, and jumping.

No mistakes here. Nothing by trial and error over millions of years. You were created just right from the beginning.
