***Safer Internet Day***

On Tuesday 10th February, our Stella Maris school community participated in Safer Internet Day. .

'Safer Internet Day is an opportunity to take a moment to talk about what’s really happening online, and think about what we can each do to make it better. Because when we each do something small – whether that’s starting a conversation, sharing a tip or changing a habit – we make a big difference to everyone’s online experience.' - eSafety Commissioner

It was wonderful to see each year level participating in age-appropriate activities focusing on how we can stay safer online.

***Year 6 Buddies***

The Year 6 students have stepped up into their leadership roles as the buddies for our new Prep students.

The Year 6s have done a terrific job of interacting with their Prep buddies and supporting them with settling into their playground surroundings.

The new school year brings exciting opportunities for growth, learning, and friendship, offering a fresh start for students to explore new experiences at Stella Maris.

It was wonderful to see all the students, staff, families and parish community come together to reverently celebrate mass today.

We were also fortunate to have our class crosses and the Year 6 Leadership badges blessed by Fr Justin.

**Week 2 of 2026**
Today marks the end of a successful second week of the new school year. It's been great to see all the students settling in to their new classes and reconnecting with their peers.

Our new principal, Simon Millar, has enjoyed getting to know our fabulous school community, often chatting with staff, students and families.

Simon shares a special connection to Stella Maris and is looking forward to a wonderful year a head!

As we commence our 2nd week of the new school year and begin our final month of Summer, all students and staff must follow our school's Sun Safety requirements.

Hats must be worn by all students during Recess and Lunch play times.

Sunscreen must be worn in the morning prior to coming to school and can be reapplied throughout the day.

Water bottles brought to school daily will support your child to stay hydrated throughout our hot summer days.
