ELAA is proud to be a female-led organisation, with a strong leadership team made up of women who are committed to supporting and advocating for the early learning sector.

The ECEC sector itself is powered by women – educators, teachers, leaders and approved providers who show up every day for children, families and communities.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, , highlights the importance of recognising and valuing women’s work fairly.

In early childhood education and care, the message is clear: a highly skilled workforce that plays a critical role in children’s development must be recognised with the respect, recognition and fair wages it deserves.

That’s why ELAA launched the I❤️My Kinder Teacher campaign – to shine a light on the educators and teachers who shape children’s learning, confidence and sense of belonging every day. And to call out for the need for for this female led workforce.

Today we celebrate the women who lead, teach, care and advocate across the sector.

And we continue to call for action to and ensure the ECEC workforce is properly valued.

As educators, our commitment is to the children, families and our community. Every day we see life long benefits that high quality early childhood education delivers, and we strive to ensure a safe, stable and thoughtful kinder program for every child attending Bayswater North Kindergarten. To truely value early childhood education as the foundation of the education system, then we must be valued as the people who deliver it. A fair offer to educators is not just a matter of respect, it will also help achieve pay parity with similarly educated teachers within schools, boost educator wages and attract and retain the workforce needed to deliver the expansion of free kinder from the Victorian government.
