Examples of learning environments available to the children of Developing Dreams Early Learning Chain Valley Bay this week.

Children’s interests form the basis of experiences. The Educators then design respectful & inviting spaces to scaffold learning, exploration & conversation.

Books provide an additional & embedded layer of literacy & meaning-making, supporting children’s agency & independence.

Thank you children, staff & families, and a special acknowledgment to the endearing Alli from Seasons In Art Photography, who always makes these (wet! 🌧️☔️) weeks perfect.

Woongarrah Director Carolina was enjoying a perfect holiday with her family, so I had the fun of being at the centre for 7 days. Lucky me!

In this time, I was honoured to tour multiple families, leading to new relationships being formed as they choose to share their child’s early years with us.

We’ve more tours booked this week & are having an OPEN AFTERNOON at the Woongarrah centre in September so keep your eyes here for more details.

We’re also planning our Special Person’s Morning & Afternoon Teas & an information night for families & staff.

September will be a connected & full month 🙌🏻

Life’s going to give you challenges

Sometimes, they’ll keep you up at night

Sometimes they’ll make you cancel plans & stay home

Sometimes they’ll prevent you being able to do what you ‘want’ to do

Don’t let that keep you from your DREAMS, from your goals, from the person you want to be & the life you want to create

You get to CHOOSE 🙌🏻

✨ Dream It: know what matters
- for me it’s wellbeing, so I often use my 3am wake-ups to meal prep (my later tired self is always grateful!)

✨ Own It: know your reality
- your honest feelings, thoughts & circumstances (no lying to yourself please 🤥🫠)

✨ Live It: knowing the above two answers helps you choose daily actions that keep you moving forward with intention. Win!

Maybe you’re wanting to eat better, organise your home, write a book 📖 The options are endless!

Write the letter, clear the junk draw, read a novel or enjoy a moment of quiet & connection 🤌🏻

You’ve got this thing called life: just keep choosing 👌🏻

As I get cosy in bed, I’m ready to write my gratitudes ✍️

One of my gratitudes is for the opportunity to bring comfort to the fears of a mother today.

A first time mum, beginning her search for childcare.

It’s such a HUGE decision.

And the weight of it isn’t lost on us: myself or our Teams.

I told her, my son is 32 years old & I STILL remember the first day I walked away from his care setting ❣️

I took the opportunity to let her know, Developing Dreams is a small business. ‘My’ small business, so if families aren’t happy, we aren’t considered quality or children are not cared for, I will be impacted.

Beyond ethics & morals, it is my name, my reputation & my livelihood that is affected should the staff not care deeply & purposefully for the children, families & each other. So this is absolutely prioritised.

I also shared my vision that has remained for 13 years: to create centres I’d have wanted my children to attend & that I would have wanted to work in 🏡

I told her we won’t always get it right; it would be impossible because childcare has so many moving parts & enormous emotions running through it (think families, staff, regulations etc), but to please talk to us about everything.

➡️We’ll either apologise & make amends, or we’ll explain our why.

These are the conversations I value having with ALL enquiring families…. & with you now.

If you’re looking researching childcare centres, trust your instincts, watch the engagement of the children, ask your questions.

You deserve to have sufficient time to make this decision.

I’ve have the pleasure of being at Developing Dreams Early Learning Woongarrah daily as Director Carolina enjoys a beautiful family holiday in Fiji 🌴🌊

I’m looking forward to touring multiple families this week, introducing them to our lovely educators & showing them through our learning environments at Woongarrah.

Did you know we have limited places available at Woongarrah this year?! 🙌🏻

It’s wonderful to hear how these touring & waiting list families have come across Developing Dreams: word of mouth, knowing our staff, socials etc

Enrolments for 2027 are well underway so thank you for spreading the word! 📣

📸 The amazing & caring Alli from Seasons in Art Photography will be joining the Woongarrah centre each day to photograph the children. Remember to bring your photo envelope in & select which day you’d like your child’s photo taken.

The children have been provided so many rich, meaningful & hands-on learnings during the week, catering for loud or quiet play, big movements or still moments. All the while, beautifully observed & nurtured by the staff, scaffolding thinking & communication skills.

I’m Catherine (🙋🏼‍♀️)

A life coach, teacher, mum & the owner of Developing Dreams.

Most of you know me from my two preschools, but for the last 10 years, I’ve also written & facilitated numerous parent & educator workshops.

These focused on building emotional capacity, resilience, learned happiness, value alignment etc All the important stuff! 🙌🏻

For 3 years, I also had an online membership for mums, called EMPOWERED.

The membership had a members only podcast that I’ve now made available to the public. Yep - you! 🎧

What a wonderful week we’ve had at Developing Dreams Early Learning - our humble corner of the world where we focus on values of Relationships, Wellbeing & Growth to support educators, families & children.

Because that’s the goal, right? Building communities & connections that help each of us ‘develop our dreams’ in life.

💐 Both Teams were pleased to hear we’d sent two bouquets of flowers this week.

💐 One to a Woongarrah family to say thank you for her active positive word of mouth in the community, sending 3 new families to our lovely centre! 🏡

💐 We also brightened the day of another mum who was going through a tricky time: wanting her to know she was in our thoughts 💗

📸 Educator Lauren oversaw the Chain Valley Bay photos with the wonderful Alli from Seasons in Art Photography, using Elmo & Cookie Monster, our intentional learning environments &/or children’s interests to photograph each child.

🥰 The Woongarrah Staff were excited to receive & display newly purchased resources, such as puzzles, a nesting cube, mirrors & more.

🤌🏻 The materials were chosen to promote calm, curiosity, care & emotional competency in the children, adding to our newly painted indoor environments.

✔️ Thank you families for returning your re-enrolment forms for 2027. The waiting list families will be contacted over the coming weeks if positions are available.

🙋🏼‍♀️ As for me, I enjoyed a perfect balance of admin time & visiting the staff & children of CVB, but mostly, enjoying lots of family time!

🤗 I spent a day with my daughter, had my in-laws visit for the week, watched my nieces sports, saw my friends son motorbike ride followed by dinner with her, had a date night with my husband, enjoyed a lakeside walk with my son & husband, caught up with my sister, BIL, niece & nephew in Sydney & fit in exercise & coaching calls👌🏻

How fantastic - lucky me ☺️
