✨ Week 5 at Prep Ready Kids – Discovering Patterns! ✨

This week our little learners began exploring patterns in mathematics through fun, hands-on activities. From creating colour sequences with blocks to clapping and moving in repeating rhythms, the children discovered how patterns appear all around us. 🔵🔴🔵

Learning about patterns is an important early maths skill. When children recognise and create patterns, they are developing:

🔹 Problem-solving skills
🔹 Logical thinking and reasoning
🔹 Early number sense
🔹 The foundations for future maths concepts like addition, multiplication, and algebra.

Pattern play also encourages children to observe, predict, and explain their thinking, building both confidence and curiosity in their learning.

We loved seeing the excitement as the children spotted “what comes next!” and created their own unique patterns. 🌟

Even after 15+ years in teaching, I still love being in the classroom. 🤍

Twice a week I am alongside incredible teachers, teaching, learning, observing, and staying deeply connected to what kids actually need right now — socially, emotionally, and academically.

Being hands-on in classrooms keeps me grounded. It reminds me how children learn, where they get stuck, and what truly helps them build confidence. That real-world insight is exactly what I bring into Prep Ready Kids every session.
