📢 A TIP FROM US: WORKING AGILE ISN'T ALWAYS BEST 🤔
Despite what you've heard, following the principles of agile may not be doing your project any favours.
In fact, adopting the agile method is fundamentally unsuited to projects in SOME industries; construction and engineering in particular.
Here are 5 reasons why:
❌ Agile was traditionally designed for software development projects. When we start applying its principles to some different-industry projects, they lose their relevance and we begin to compensate.
❌ Agile values quick & continuous delivery - but not in a way that's always beneficial. Following this principle can jeopardize quality control.
❌ Agile values self-organising teams which don't often require a chain of command and control.
❌ Agile does not often consider a pre-defined scope. By not prefixing a scope in some projects, budgets and resources can quickly spiral out of control!
❌ Agile values development over planning. In some projects, we know what the finished product should and will look like and the sequence in which the stages of development need to take place (which requires thorough planning!)
We're wondering if and how you have incorporated principles of agile into construction and/or engineering projects (or projects that aren't software based)? How/has it worked for you?

Hi all,
Something we'd like to quickly share with you if you have a moment?
Excitingly, our flagship professional development program, the BSB51415 Diploma of Project Management has been officially endorsed by the Institute of Project Management.
But here’s why this is worth sharing:
1. By successfully completing the program (DPM), you’ll be automatically certified by the Australian Institute as a Certified Practicing Project Professional (CPPP).
2. Your new qualification plus certification will entitle you to the post-nominals “DPM CPPP”
3. This is something that’s nationally recognised by industry, recruiters and employers.
4. You’ll be formally distinguished as a project management professional with the knowledge and skills required to give your project the best possible shot at success.
It’s the real deal. 👊 Thanks AIPM 🙏
