Mỗi vị khách mời của “Vietnamese Voices: Roots to Success” mang đến một câu chuyện truyền cảm hứng bằng sự gần gũi, thân tình và giản dị. Điều ý nghĩa nhất là được nhìn thấy các em học sinh từ ngại ngùng đến mạnh dạn, từ dè dặt đến chủ động trò chuyện bằng tiếng Việt với các vị khách mời. Các em không chỉ tự tin trả lời câu hỏi, mà còn hào hứng đặt ra những câu hỏi thú vị, sâu sắc và đầy bất ngờ.

Mỗi buổi trò chuyện không chỉ là một giờ học tiếng Việt, mà còn là một cơ hội để các em lắng nghe, kết nối, khám phá và học hỏi từ những câu chuyện thật của những người thật. Tiếng Việt là cầu nối để các em hiểu hơn về cộng đồng, về những người xung quanh và về chính mình.

Đó cũng chính là một trong những điều mà chương trình mong muốn được mang lại. Chương trình tạo nên một không gian để học sinh được lắng nghe, được chia sẻ, được kết nối và tự tin sử dụng tiếng Việt theo một cách tự nhiên, thực tế và ý nghĩa.

Each guest of “Vietnamese Voices: Roots to Success” brings an inspiring story, shared in a warm, genuine and down-to-earth way. What is most meaningful, however, is seeing our students grow from shy and hesitant to confident and willing to engage in conversations in Vietnamese with our guests. They are not only becoming more confident in answering questions, but are also increasingly eager to ask their own questions that are thoughtful, insightful, engaging and wonderfully unexpected.

Each conversation is more than just a Vietnamese language lesson. It is an opportunity for students to listen, connect, explore and learn from the real-life stories and experiences of real people. Through these conversations, Vietnamese becomes more than a language, it becomes a bridge that helps students connect with their community, understand the people around them, and discover more about themselves.

And that is at the heart of what “Vietnamese Voices: Roots to Success” hopes to achieve: creating a welcoming space where students can listen, share, connect and build confidence in using Vietnamese in a natural, practical and meaningful way.

“Vietnamese Voices: Roots to Success” được xây dựng trong khuôn khổ chương trình học của Lớp Thực hành Tiếng Việt. Qua những câu chuyện chân thực, các vị khách mời giúp học sinh nhận ra rằng, việc biết thêm tiếng Việt không chỉ góp phần gìn giữ bản sắc văn hoá và nuôi dưỡng sự gắn kết với cội nguồn, mà còn mang lại nhiều lợi thế thiết thực trong công việc và cuộc sống. Những lợi thế này bao gồm khả năng giao tiếp đa văn hoá, xây dựng những kết nối sâu sắc hơn với cộng đồng, cũng như mở rộng cơ hội nghề nghiệp trong tương lai. Khách mời chính là những hình mẫu truyền cảm hứng mạnh mẽ và gần gũi nhất cho học sinh nhìn nhận lại việc học tiếng Việt của chính mình bằng một góc nhìn sâu sắc, thực tiễn và ý nghĩa hơn.

"Vietnamese Voices: Roots to Success" is a flagship initiative integrated into the curriculum of the Vietnamese Practice Class. Through these authentic stories, guest speakers help students realize that proficiency in Vietnamese does far more than just preserve cultural identity and foster a connection to their roots-it also delivers tangible, real-world advantages. These include enhanced cross-cultural communication, deeper community connections, and expanded career opportunities in the future. As relatable and powerful role models, the speakers encourage students to re-evaluate their own Vietnamese language journey through a more profound, practical, and meaningful lens.

Our Vietnamese language classes run every Saturday during the school year from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Bankstown Girls High School. We offer Vietnamese classes for students (children to adults) from Kindergarten to Year 10 and Vietnamese Practice Class (special for big kids and adults).
