Miss Simone had a girl in her group who used to hide her work.
Cover it with her arm. Shrink in her chair. Do everything she could so nobody would see it and ask questions.
She's dyslexic. And for a long time, that meant feeling like the one who was behind. The one who got it wrong.
This term, she was the first to put her hand up.
Not because the dyslexia went away. Because somewhere along the way, she stopped believing it made her less than.
That's not a small thing. That's the whole thing. π
