Following the success of last year’s workshops, the Academy of Artisan Skills is pleased to present the second Raku Firing Workshop at Old Stables Pottery & Gallery in Balingup on Saturday 8 August 2026.

Held two weeks before the Balingup Medieval Carnivale, this hands-on experience invites participants to explore the dramatic art of Raku firing, where flame, smoke, heat and timing transform clay into striking works of art.

Join Cynthia for a creative, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn the art of lino printing while transforming a favourite jacket, pair of jeans, T-shirt, tote bag, or any quality cotton item into a unique wearable artwork.

Cynthia will guide you through every step of the process, from developing a simple design that’s perfect for lino carving to safely using professional carving tools.

You’ll then carve your own printing block, ink it up, and print your original design onto your chosen fabric.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined Letitia’s weaving workshop today. It was such a joy to spend time together, sharing stories, learning new skills, and creating with our hands.

There is something truly special about slowing down, weaving natural fibres, and connecting with each other through creativity. Every conversation, every laugh, and every woven piece made the day even more meaningful.

Brushstroke by brushstroke, Nicholee Vitale guided participants through a painting experience that was as much about slowing down and enjoying the process as it was about creating something beautiful. There was laughter, quiet focus, colourful discoveries, and the wonderful feeling of seeing each artwork come to life.
