BSC Students Shine at WAGSMS
Baldivis Secondary College students delivered an outstanding series of performances at the WAGSMS concert at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on Tuesday, 25 August.
The evening opened with ‘By the Bay’, a 40-piece classical guitar ensemble bringing together students from Baldivis Secondary College, Safety Bay Senior High School, Comet Bay College and Warnbro Community High School. Led by IMSS guitar teachers Steve East and Caroline Binsted, the ensemble performed works by Paul Svoboda, Tim Andrew and Steve East to an exceptionally high standard.
Our students also took to the stage as members of the Concert Band conducted by Sam Lillis and Rock Band guided by Mrs Branch, alongside a number of students who performed solo pieces throughout the evening. Across every performance, our students represented the College with confidence, musicianship and professionalism. Their performances were absolutely outstanding.
It was particularly wonderful to hear the overwhelmingly positive feedback from families, staff and members of the wider community. Seeing our students perform to a full house — and hearing others recognise the talent, commitment and hard work behind their performances — was a fantastic moment for our Music program.
Events such as WAGSMS provide students with invaluable opportunities to perform in a professional venue, collaborate with musicians from other schools and develop their confidence and ensemble skills.
Congratulations to all of our BSC musicians. You represented our College exceptionally well, and we are incredibly proud of what you achieved.
A huge thank you also to our IMSS teachers, school staff, families and everyone working behind the scenes to make these opportunities possible.
