Today we celebrated all the amazing dads and special male figures in our children’s lives! We hope you enjoyed our very first Father’s Day celebration and event as much as we loved putting it together. 🥰

🌿✨ Happy Educators’ Day!! ✨🌿

Today we transformed our office into a little relaxation retreat, giving our amazing educators a chance to pause, recharge, enjoy some delicious treats and feel appreciated. 💕☕️

📚 With so many of our educators being avid readers, we chose Blind Date with a Book as one of our special surprises! Each book was wrapped with little clues, making choosing their next read extra fun.

Every detail was designed to celebrate the incredible people who nurture, love and inspire our children each day. Thank you for your passion, dedication and everything you do, you are appreciated more than you know! ❤️🌸

Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming Reece Whitby MLA Member for Baldivis, into our centre! 💚

Reece was shown around our beautiful service, meeting our educators and getting an insight into what makes Sagewood so special. He also joined us for an ELMA Education - Emotional Literacy & Mindfulness Academy mat session, run by ELMA CEO Tenielle Bentley, experiencing first hand how we support children’s emotional literacy, wellbeing and mindfulness.

Reece also spoiled our amazing educators with some delicious muffins for morning tea 🧁 and took the time to celebrate some of our incredible team members, presenting their sagewood 4 & 5 Year Service Badges and gift vouchers. What a lovely way to recognise the dedication and commitment of our educators! 💚

Thank you Reece for spending time in our service, celebrating our educators and taking an interest in the important work we do in our community. We loved having you visit! 💚

We are looking forward to having Reece Whitby MLA at our beautiful locally owned service tomorrow to show him how our qualified and experienced educators allow children to develop a love of learning through play!

Play is not just fun – it's essential to how children learn, grow and thrive. It underpins their health, wellbeing and development across early childhood. 📖

That's why we've introduced Australia's first Play Strategy and establishing a WA Play Strategy Advisory Committee.

Putting play at the heart of early childhood development, the Strategy will focus on children from 0 - 8 while recognising the importance of play for all children and young people. 🎢🎲

Here at Sagewood Baldivis, our philosophy is at the center of everything we do. It guides every interaction, frames our daily rhythms, and highlights our commitment to nurturing, loving, and inspiring every child who walks through our doors.

As part of our ongoing dedication to reflection and continuous growth, we have recently reviewed our service philosophy to ensure it truly reflects our shared values and aspirations.

During our August staff meeting, we highlighted key updates including the addition of child safety standards, families as active participants in our planning cycles, and our ongoing commitment to community involvement since opening our service.

We then shared our philosophy with families asking for feedback:
"Love the wording on the updated philosophy definitely reflects the care and dedication to learning that the staff show our kids. "

We are now pleased to share our updated centre philosophy here at Sagewood Baldivis :)

📚✨ A Symphony of Stories Book Week at Sagewood Baldivis! ✨📚

What an incredible Book Week we have had! Our educators have gone above and beyond creating engaging provocations and experiences inspired by the magic of books, storytelling and imagination. From sensory play and creative arts to dramatic play, storytelling and hands on literacy experiences, our environments have been filled with opportunities to explore, create and connect.

These experiences support much more than a love of books, they build important foundations for literacy development, including vocabulary, communication, comprehension, storytelling and confidence in expressing ideas. This connects directly to the AEDC Literacy & Numeracy domain, supporting children’s early language and literacy skills through meaningful, play-based experiences.

A huge thank you to our incredible educators for creating such intentional and inspiring experiences throughout Book Week! ❤️📖 We hope our children continue to discover the joy, wonder and endless possibilities that come with every story. ✨

With today being Red Nose Day, we thought we would share an important reminder of why safe sleep research matters so much.

Being a new parent, there is so much advice and rules around what you should and shouldn't do when it comes to creating a safe sleep environment for your little one.

As educators, we understand how important it is to ensure our families and community are receiving the correct information.

Every year Red Nose fundraisers so they can continue years of dedicated research that has helped us understand how to create safer sleeping environments for babies and reduce the risk of SIDS. This ongoing research provides us with evidence that shapes the everyday guidelines we rely on to keep little ones safe.

At Sagewood, we take safe sleep practices seriously. All of our educators are fully safe sleep trained, so you know your child is in safe hands with us every single day.
