Ecolinc, established in 2005, provides a wide range of exciting and engaging curriculum programs for P-12 students and teachers, addressing both the Victorian curriculum (p-10) as well as the updated 2022 VCE curriculum in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and of course Environmental Science. The award winning Ecolinc facility incorporates innovative ecologically sustainable design (ESD) elements, provi

ding the perfect venue and model for environmental teaching and learning. Ecolinc is set within a created indigenous grassy/woodland landscape featuring a model wetland, designed to intercept and filter stormwater, and to aid in cooling the facility in summer.

Ecolinc are very excited to introduce our new program for 2027. This program will fit beautifully into the year 9/10 curriculum on diseases. Students will learn about infectious diseases and how they are transmitted by specifically studying Chytrid fungal disease in Australian frogs. The day involves hands on activities investigating this disease and finishes with the students coming up with ways we can protect our frog populations. They get to meet our Ecolinc frogs, participate in an escape room, design experiments to look at transmission and design their own frog sauna.

Big thanks to Kass and Tim for putting together the first of our frog saunas. These should be a great way for our wild frog populations to help combat chytrid fungus. Especially through the colder months.
They will form part of our new 2027 year 9/10 disease program where students will become ecologists and investigate a chytrid fungus outbreak. Looking forward to collecting data on which frogs decide to make use of the saunas.
