Ho! Ho! Ho!
By Friday afternoon every student should have the name of their secret person - look for a pink paper folded sticky note in the 'business section' of their school bag.
Re. Secret Santa
$10 for gift purchase.
Please encourage your child to work for their $10 (limit) to purchase their Secret gift through completing extra chores. This responsibility builds good habits and helps make the end reward even sweeter.
Please try and match gift to your 'person'.
On the gift tag (or note paper taped across gift, etc) write
3 clues about themself. Most students attempted some clues today, check their bag for examples.
No signatures!!
Good clue/s
I have blue eyes, 2 brothers and we work with lots of police.
(hahaha...have you guessed the Secret Santa?).
Previous clues
I turned 7 this year, I lost a tooth, and my teacher is Mrs Tobin -
99% of 1W fit these clues.
Last year 1 student wrote they had hair on their legs - 1/2 the class experienced an epiphany, the other half talked about their dad's legs.
Technically, there are no bad clues.
Clue Ideas:
Swimming groups, sports, fav lunchbox food, skills (great at - drawing/running/chatting/playing with Seesaw features), prefer Velcro or shoelaces, etc.
The Game
The whole class stands, the child who is working out who gave them the gift is at the front. Students sit if any one of the clues doesn't match them (you need all 3 to remain standing). The last one or few standing assist a process of elimination, and gratitude.
Hence reason for secrecy, guessing is part of the fun.
I hope this makes sense.
We played it today.
Please send in gifts with clues by Wednesday at the latest.
Thank you so much for your loving support.
HUGE regards
Merridee and 1W 'masters' (Ned) and/or 'Fruitloops' (rest of class).
Ps. If your child was away, at some stage on the weekend I will email you with S.S info.

We're cruising into our final week of Year 1. The kids are growing up faster than we can keep up. I'm sending you all warm fuzzies for a holly-jolly Christmas. Thanks for letting me be your class angel - it's been a blast. β€οΈππ
Dear Parents,
Please note the change in venue for our carols event.
Place: Aquinas High School undercover area...where they hold their assemblies (you can see it from the street).
Time: 5pm - 7pm.
There are no areas for play, as we do not have 'permissions' for the Aquinas oval. The carols event is very much a seated audience, alas no play spaces.
Bring a family size picnic rug and 'huddle' up together.
Thanks for your support.
Happy reindeer antler hunting!
Kind regards
Merridee
Dear all,
To express gratitude for Mrs. Tobin's dedication, we are organizing an end-of-year gift. Those wishing to contribute, please transfer funds by 10th November.
Non-monetary contributions are also welcome; please contact me to discuss.
Following collection, gift ideas will be explored, with initial thoughts including travel vouchers and fashion gift cards, although suggestions are invited.
