A little Wattle Day fun this week 💛🌿

We explored our beautiful Australian wattle, enjoyed some hands-on activities and of course created some gorgeous little wattle artworks of our own! 🌼

Feeling very loved and appreciated this Educators’ Day 🥹🤍

A huge thank you to my beautiful daycare families, friends and other wonderful educators for the thoughtful gifts, messages and kind words today. You have all made me feel incredibly special and appreciated.

I absolutely love what I do and feel so lucky to spend my days watching little people learn, grow and become their own little personalities. Some days are busy, some are challenging, but there is honestly nowhere else I’d rather be. 🥰

To have so many beautiful people acknowledge and support what I do means more than you know.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my Educators’ Day so special. 🤍🌼

🤎 Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day! 🤎

I honestly feel so lucky to do what I do every day. 🥰

The cuddles, the chaos, the messy play, the little milestones, the big feelings and watching these little people learn and grow — there really is so much to love about this job.

A huge thank you to my beautiful families for trusting me with your little people and for supporting Birch Family Daycare. It means more than you know. 🤎

And a big Happy Educators’ Day to all the wonderful educators out there doing what we love! 🌿✨

❤️ 94KM DONE! ❤️

At the start of August, I set myself the challenge of running 3km every day for Red Nose Day — 93km for the month. Somehow, I’ve finished on 94km!

I honestly never thought I’d be able to do something like this, but here we are!

The biggest thank you has to go to my husband and my kids, who ran with me every step of the way. On the easy days, the tired days, the cold days and the days I really didn’t feel like getting out there — you were right beside me. I honestly don’t think I could have done it without you.

And a huge thank you to everyone who donated and supported me. Together we raised $181, absolutely smashing my original $50 goal!

93km was the goal. 94km was the finish. ❤️

A little extra special part of our Father’s Day program this year… our Local Tradies area. 🛠️🤎

Many of the local trades featured throughout our Home Timber & Hardware play space have a special connection to the children in my care — belonging to their dads, mums, aunties, uncles, cousins and other special people in their families. 🥹

I love being able to bring these little pieces of the children’s lives into our play environment. Seeing something familiar, recognising their family’s business or workplace and proudly sharing “that’s my Dad’s!” or “that’s my Uncle’s!” with their friends makes the experience so much more meaningful.

It’s more than just pretend play — it’s their families, their community and the world they know being represented within their play. 🤎

Such a simple little addition, but definitely one of my favourite parts of this year’s Father’s Day program. 🛠️

NEW PROGRAM

Home Timber and Hardware Store 🔨 🪚

Father’s Day usually breaks my heart a little more each year. 🤎 But this year, planning our Father’s Day program has had me feeling a little different — super excited, a little emotional, and flooded with so many beautiful childhood memories of my dad.

Some of my favourite memories aren’t the big occasions or fancy things… they’re the ordinary moments that I probably didn’t realise were so special at the time.

Driving around in Dad’s black three-seater ute, somehow squeezed in with my sisters and Dad. Trips to the hardware store, heading out fishing or yabbying, or even just stopping at the bottlo on the way home from after-school care so Dad could grab his beers.

They were such simple, everyday things, but they’re the memories that have stayed with me all these years.

So when I started thinking about what I wanted to create for our Father’s Day program this year, I knew I wanted it to be something that brought a little piece of those memories back to life.

Our little Home Timber & Hardware store has become so much more than just another play space for me. Every little detail has reminded me of Dad — the tools, the timber, the hardware store trips and all those ordinary adventures that turned out to be some of the best memories of my childhood.

It’s funny how, as a child, you don’t realise that you’re living the moments you’ll one day wish you could go back to.

It really is the little things that stay with us forever. 🤎

This one’s for you, Dad. 🛠️🎣
