Our last online training of the year is coming up and will be in Healing Trauma with Guided Drawing.

Guided Drawing applies bilateral, rhythmic repetition in a ground-breaking, body-based way to heal trauma.

Developed over the past 50 years it has become a uniquely effective therapeutic tool. Guided Drawing directs the attention to tracking the felt body-sensations. Clients are encouraged to becoming aware of what massage movements are needed to decrease pain, loosen bracing patterns and how to create sufficient safety for dissociated parts to reconnect.

Such massage movements are rhythmic healing patterns, which can become a simple yet effective way of restoring the flow of life.

Guided Drawing is a body-based, non-verbal way of working through trauma, working with the body's felt sense rather than through the story attached to it.

Clients don't translate a feeling into an image, they translate the sensation itself, directly, onto the page.

A flutter in the stomach becomes a fluttering of the crayon. Eyes closed, a crayon in each hand, using rhythm and repetition to find the movement that lets go of cognitive control, because "your head does not know the needed outcome."
