🪘 AFRICAN DRUMMING SESSION 🪘

Yesterday we had the most amazing experience being joined by 2 African friends who taught us all about music and culture. The children sung, danced and each had their own djembe drum to play! Our friends taught us about rhythm and with using our own drums, everyone did so well!

This was unlike any other incursion experience we have done and the children enjoyed it so much!!

💚 HAPPY EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS DAY 💚

Today is all about celebrating our amazing educators here at the service, and the hard work that they put in each and every single day to care for the young children within our service! I'm so proud of the team we have here at Riverbanks ELC, and they deserve all the love and warmth they receive today!

I also want to take the opportunity to tell you all that Riverbanks ELC won an award at the YMCA awards night this past weekend!

I nominated the team for this award for the inclusivity that they embed, especially with AUSLAN. The team strive to incorporate AUSLAN into group times, meal times and general daily interactions. The children have really understood sign language and have used it with their peers in the service, including children who may use AUSLAN as their first language. This is all reflective of the hard work that the educators put in and the time they take to truly support the children each day and how they want the absolute best for all children. I am so proud of the team for winning this award- they deserve this recognition!!!!

The award that Riverbanks won is "Brighter Futures Team Award 2026". The name of this award is truly reflective of what our team does; fostering brighter futures by supporting inclusivity in all ways throughout the service.

Please join me in acknowledging the team and the hard work they put in everyday. I know how proud i am every day of these educators, i'm sure the families have plenty more to say about how the educators have truly made a positive impact on you and your families lives

This week we had an amazing visit from Wilbur’s wildlife! We met some friends such as possums, lizards, snakes, turtles and giant cockroaches and it was so fun for the children to learn about these animals and have the up close experience of holding/ petting them

💚🥛BABYCHINO EXCURSION🥛💚

today the Kindy children embarked on their first excursion to X-convenience Angle Vale! The children followed the route and crossed roads safely to reach X-Convenience where our friend Nani gave the children a babychino and yummy marshmallow!

This was such a great experience for the children to learn road safety and we can’t wait to go on more excursions in the future!
