We have been learning all about time in maths. We made a clock on the floor and joined unifix blocks together to represent the increase in 5 minutes at every number

We cook lunch every Wednesday. The children choose the recipe. They figure out the ingredients from clues that I give about shape, food group, colour etc. Learning to cook healthy food that could easily be replicated at home is a valuable life skill

It has been an odd year in KITES. Due to a lack of staff we didn't start operating until the 3rd of March. I am sooooooo behind with posts but here goes!!!! On quite a few Tuesday afternoons we went Rock Wall climbing at the YMCA. This activity requires bravery, perseverance, resilience. The reward is pure joy, and an overwhelming sense of achievement

So much happens in KITES all of the time. Great educators, great kids, great activities. The only Primary school engagement program in Alice Springs that caters for children from Remote communities. Been running since 2012 and still going strong!

Last Monday Adelaide Church from Tangentyere came to help us make bush medicine soap. It was such a great time. Thanks Adelaide, you are wonderful!

Term 4 started this week and boy have we been busy! Tom Wickham (who went to Bradshaw Primary and represented Australia at this yearβs Olympics in Paris) came to teach us how to play hockey. He spoke about the power of showing up again and again, staying focused on your goals, and keeping going through setbacks and disappointments.

Yesterday we celebrated Book Week

Last week we had a wonderful session with Adelaide Church from Tangentyere. She brought in books written in Pitjantjatjara that the children absolutely loved reading. We role played making soap with bush medicine as a practice for the real thing in the future.

We completed the Potato Olympics with running, bowling and shot put. Amazingly the Spudletes survived every event!
