Inquiry Learning 🔎🫀🦴🫁
Currently our Kinder 2 children are exploring the human body through inquiry learning.
Beginning from the curiosity and questioning from children, the inquiry soon became part of daily conversations, where children had opportunities to explore their knowledge within the learning environment.
Today a member of our village shared her experiences working in emergency as a doctor, where children learnt about the importance of hand hygiene, how to keep ourselves safe from germs and healthy food choices to keep our bodies strong. Children experienced bandages for bone fractures, the use of a vein detector and hearing human heart beat through a stethoscope.
🩺 “A thermometer checks your temperature”
🫀 “I had a needle in this arm”
🦴 “We get sick if we don’t wash our hands”
🔎 “What do germs do to our body?”

Congratulations! 🎊 🪺
Three of our wonderful educators have reached significant milestones this month!
Maria has reached 5 years within the Nest! Maria is a constant nurturing presence, for our children, families and educators. We are very lucky to have her as part of our village!
Sharon has also reached 5 years within the Nest! Sharon has grown as an educator and shared her passion for teaching and learning with us all. We look forward to many more years together!
Mathew has reached 1 year within the Nest! Mathew brings his positive attitude to our service each and every day, encouraging children and educators to show kindness, laughter and fun.

As a school holiday activity, this event is for children between the ages of 3-13.
This is a show with live animals, so to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone joining us (including the animals!) children will need to bring their listening ears and gentle hands.
Parents/guardians will need to accompany their children. Due to the limited capacity for the event, we ask that parents/guardians are limited to one per family.

This Harmony week, we celebrated the wonderful cultures we have within our community through a range of experiences. Educators shared their delicious foods with one another, children engaged in conversations and learnings about each other and the world around them, and had lots of fun dressing in the colour orange or clothing that represents who we are.
🧡 We would love to know how you celebrate your culture. Let us know in the comments below! 👇🏼
