Here at Busy Bees Airport West, we offer a range of healthy food choices for children and families as they enter and exit our service during the busy moments of the day.

Children, families and educators are welcome to a piece of fruit from our fruit bowl, situated at the kitchen in our Piazza.

Our wonderful cooks Silvy and Lovey ensure the bowl is topped up each afternoon, providing children with nutrient rich foods to support growth, brain development and lifelong eating habits.

The fruit bowl has become a favourite place to be during afternoon pick ups for many of our busy families and children on the go!

Throughout daily practice, educators converse with children about who they can approach when they need help. Children express their understanding of safety and who can keep them safe in the community.

H E A L T H Y H A R O L D 🦒💛🍓🍌🍊

Recently we had Healthy Harold visit our service to support our children’s learning and understanding of healthy choices.

The children learnt about making healthy food choices and the rainbow colours of vegetables and fruits we eat. Harold told us about being active and even showed us how to slow down our heart rate to be able to rest and recover.

Children expressed their thoughts, feelings and ideas throughout the experience 👇🏼

OUR COMMITMENT TO CHILD SAFETY

Across our service, Child Safety is embedded in a many different ways!

Whether it be through group discussions with our children, artwork, emergency drills, incursions, excursions, policies and procedures, our Child Safe Standards is at the forefront of everything that we do.

Hear from our children about what safety looks like to them:

E D U C A T O R M I L E S T O N E S ⭐️

Last week we celebrated a few members of our team for reaching milestones during their times within our service!

Ang has reached 6 years with us. Ang’s journey started in 2020. You will often find her working across various classrooms across our service. Her kind and caring personality evidently shines through the relationships she builds with the children, families and educators. You will often find Ang singing nursery rhymes across the service!

Charlotte is currently our Lead Educator within our Toddler 2 classroom and celebrates 5 years within our hive. Charlotte commenced as a trainee, and excelled in her studies from Certificate III to now holding her Diploma! Charlotte is a strong leader and her passion is very evident within the learning environments in Toddler 2! If there’s a dance party happening, you’ll be sure to find Charlotte busting a move with the children!

Alycia celebrates her 4 years with our service. Alycia also commenced her journey on a traineeship, and was provided with an opportunity to learn valuable skills whilst learning on the job! Alycia has worked between our Nursery and Toddler classrooms, demonstrating her passion for our littlest learners. If you notice some beautiful hairstyles within our Toddler and Kinder yard, chances are Alycia’s has created them!

We thank you for the passion, dedication and the enthusiasm you bring each and everyday! We hope you are able to reflect on the amazing contributions you bring to our service! 🐝
