Community garden with five adjoining properties linked by gates, about 500 varieties of fruit, small nursery with low cost plant sales to maintain them.

This is a new kind of community garden where neighbours have joined together to link their gardens and share the harvests. It is not just about growing food but creating community and fostering respect for the earth and each other. The three original gardens are lovingly tended by Joe Kielnerowski and Rosanne Parker assisted by friends, neighbours and local community gardeners and follow permacult

JOE IS OPEN FOR FIG PICK UPS TOMORROW!
Sorry the fig sale ended up being very drawn out due to circumstances beyond our control but the good news is that there is still a good selection available from the premier fig collection Australia. I (Rosanne) ended up making two trips to Lyell McEwin in the last couple of weeks: one for a bad fall on a steep ramp at a shopping centre and the second when my arm got infected with cat scratch/potting mix which was rapidly going septic! I am pleased to say I am out of danger of a nasty potential situation but garden matters had to take a back seat for a while. Joe's garden at 6 Argent St Elizabeth Grove will be open from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 6 June for collection of figs ordered or you can just come with cash. $25 each or 5 for $100 for mature trees which will be fruiting next summer/autumn. You can call Joe on 0402 298 409 if you have any questions. If you cannot come tomorrow, you can make another appointment. https://andrews-urban-farm.square.site

Good food does not have to go to waste 🧺πŸͺ£πŸ“¦

Fruit Share Adelaide rescues surplus fruit and vegetables from backyards and farms, transforming backyard abundance into community nourishment by sharing fresh produce with people who need it most through a network of over 130 food relief partners.

We are 100% volunteer run and keep our costs as low as possible. But there are real costs to keeping things moving, and your donation helps cover them directly:

β›½οΈπŸš™ Fuel reimbursements for Harvest Leaders so they are never out of pocket.

βš–οΈβœ‚οΈ Harvest equipment like platform scales and secateurs to equip new Harvest Leaders.

πŸ–₯️⌨️ Software tools, keeping our coordination and communications running smoothly.

πŸššπŸ›» Van or ute hire to efficiently move larger loads of produce.

πŸ“„πŸ“° Print materials to grow our reach across Adelaide.

Help us rescue good food and get it to people who need it by donating to Fruit Share Adelaide.

This financial year, we aim to raise $20,000 to keep harvests running and allow us to continue growing.

Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible, and your receipt arrives by email straight away.

Donating before 30 June means it counts toward this financial year.

PS AT THE BEGINNING!
SATURDAY 5PM
THANKS TO ALL WHO ORDERED TODAY. However, because the post was put up late, a number of people have not confirmed their orders so we are leaving the link open. Joe has said he can be open for people to pick up on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon from 1-3pm. Don't miss this opportunity and sorry for the confusion!
YOU CAN ORDER FIGS NOW!!
Hi to all our fellow fig fans! This week has been one of those we could have done without: hospital stays etc. and a funeral to go to this morning but we're finally back online. Unmarked mixed mature figs at $25 EACH OR 5 FOR $100. Here's the link to order to pay by card and reserve your figs.
These were offered a couple of weeks ago but Joe was busy and unable to allocate a pick up day. Because of severe illness, I have not been able to write to everyone individually so even though your order is noted, it needs to be paid for here to be considered firm and put out for collection. If you want these special figs, please post your order ASAP so we can have it ready for you. If you cannot make it tomorrow another appointment time can be arranged for either Elizabeth or Brompton if that makes it easier for those living near the city or south.

FIGS
Very sorry about dragging our feet on the fig orders but I've been very sick in hospital. Aware that pick up day is this coming Saturday and I have not yet put the link up but will try and do tomorrow so you can still pick up on Saturday or very soon after. Please be patient but multiple accidents, injuries and infections have knocked me way out of action. So sorry!

We've known Peter for a few years now and are delighted to see he has qualified with the Brookmans at the Food The Food Forest who are permaculture royalty in SA. Can highly recommend for any gardening and designing work in your garden following permaculture principles.

is delighted to announce that Peter has completed his Permaculture Design Course with The Food Forest in Gawler and is now a qualified Permaculture Designer.

This is exciting for our business as it means we'll be able to work alongside industry professionals to design and build permaculture gardens across Adelaide and beyond.

The final project was a permaculture redesign of and Garden Goodness Australia to not only support resilience and sustainability through what we deliver but also for our staff and owner moving forward.

Excited for the next steps!

Watch this space!

What gorgeous and amazing people these are. Doubly so, when willing to go out in this nasty weather and not getting glorious spring sunshine as a bonus. We love Fruit Share Adelaide who have managed to pull off an amazing task where others have failed. PLEASE assist any way you can - we all HATE waste! They are a not for profit charity so all these lovely workers do it for LOVE!

AND STILL IT COMES.....
SORRY, OFF THE AIR AGAIN
Was in hospital Mon/Tues. Home now. Severe infection where my cat scratched me playing a game, then Sunday I was potting strawberries and it wasn't covered and on my arm got very very badly infected. Not fun for sure...... Thanks for caring # # #
