The excitement levels are beyond measure for this weekend, as we prepare to watch our very own Alex Chidiac line up for the Matildas playing in the 2026 AFC Asian Cup final.

From a player at NWJSA to the world stage, representing the Matildas at the 2023 World Cup and the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup on home soil, to currently playing for F.C Como in Italy her journey is proof of what community football (soccer) can build.

All those years ago NWJSA provided Alexandra the opportunity to play soccer through her school North Adelaide Primary School. It was this opportunity that gave her with the chance to play, learn the game but more importantly fall in love with the beautiful game that football is.

All these years later NWJSA still holds true to providing kids just like Alex with the same opportunities. At NWJSA every child deserves the opportunity to play regardless of gender, ability, or financial circumstances

NWJSA empowers children and young people by creating safe, inclusive spaces where kids are given the opportunity to take risks, grow and develop, and to dream bigger than they ever thought possible.

NWJSA are proof that from our local grassroots, world class players can rise.
And it all started here at NWJSA.

Congratulations Alex we are so proud of you and your journey.
Let's Go Matilda's!
'Til it's done!

Jubilee Reserve Redevelopment Opportunity 13/11/2025

Have Your Say – Jubilee Reserve Redevelopment - Consultation Closes 19 November 2025

Jubilee Reserve is a vital community hub that supports wellbeing, sport, and recreation for all members of the community. It provides an open shared space for multiple sporting clubs and serves as an inclusive space for local families.

However, recent redevelopment proposal have the potential to significantly impact how our community utilises Jubilee Reserve and affect the long-term viability of several sporting clubs. We firmly believe that any redevelopment must ensure fair and equitable access for all users and uphold the reserve’s role as a true multi-sport, community facility.

Time is running out to make your voice heard. The City of Charles Sturt community consultation closes on 19 November 2025.

If you value the future of community sport and open shared spaces, please take a few minutes to provide your feedback today.

Have your say before 19 November 2025: https://www.yoursaycharlessturt.com.au/jubilee-reserve-redevelopment

Jubilee Reserve Redevelopment Opportunity A recent Federal Government funding pledge has created an opportunity for us to explore the potential redevelopment of Jubilee Reserve with our community.

Have Your Say on the Jubilee Reserve Redevelopment

From 21 October 2025 Charles Sturt Council is inviting Community Engagement.

According to the Council meeting minutes from 13 October, the current redevelopment plan will negatively impact the North West Junior Soccer Association (NWJSA) by reducing access to playing pitches. This could directly affect over 400 junior players and 30 referee opportunities, with permanent fencing also limiting the flexibility of the green space.

Other users of Jubilee Reserve, including SMOSH and the Port Adelaide Softball Club (PASC), are also expected to face negative impacts under the current project scope.

As per council minutes NWJSA, SMOSH, and PASC fully support the $5 million Federal investment from Mark Butler MP to develop infrastructure for the Adelaide Jaguars for an WNPL venue. However, we believe a more suitable location must be identified, one that supports the Jaguars growth without displacing or disadvantaging existing clubs, community groups, and different sporting codes.

We urge all members of the community to make your voice heard. Visit the Council's consultation page and share your thoughts:

A lot of fun was had at our recent October school holiday development clinic sessions. It was extra special to have Adelaide United players Ella Tonkin and Zoe Tolland conduct our girls only sessions. Both Ella and Zoe started their soccer careers at NWJSA representing their schools Rosary and Nailsworth. It was great to have them back out on the pitch for NWJSA.

Thank you to all who attended, thank you to Juan, Ella, Zoe and the coaches for helping to upskill and develop the players soccer skills whilst having fun at the same time.

Term 4 development clinics have kicked off, inc girls only sessions. Please reach out if you would like to register.
