Reiki isn’t quite what most people think it is.
It’s not about “fixing” you.
It’s not about forcing big emotional releases.
And you don’t have to believe in it for it to work.
At its core, Reiki works with your nervous system.
When your body has been under stress for a long time — whether it’s physical, emotional, or mental — it gets stuck in protection mode. That’s what we call fight, flight, or freeze.
In those states, the body isn’t focused on healing. It’s focused on surviving.
Reiki gently helps the body shift out of that survival response and into the parasympathetic state — the place where rest, repair, digestion, and restoration naturally happen.
That’s why people often walk away feeling lighter, calmer, more present, or simply “back in their body.”
Not because something was taken away from them…
but because their body finally felt safe enough to slow down and reorganise itself.
There’s no force. No overwhelm. No need to relive anything. Just a quiet return to safety.
This is the foundation of how we work — not through intensity, but by creating the right conditions for your body to do what it already knows how to do.

Exciting news! Tomorrow, we open the doors to Within Balance Healing Arts.
This space has been built with intention — to support the nervous system, to create safety in the body, and to offer a different way of working with stress, overwhelm, and emotional weight with very ancient and sacred work.
If you’ve been feeling the call to slow down, reconnect, or come back into balance… this is for you.
As we open the space, we are offering a small number of Founding Sessions.
These are for those who feel called to step in early and experience the work as it begins to take shape.
Each session will also include additional integration support to help you carry the work beyond the space.

This blog has been created as an extension of the work I do inside the clinic - a place where deeper conversations can unfold around healing, regulation, and reconnecting with yourself in a meaningful way.
Here, I’ll be sharing insights, practices, and perspectives across the services I offer…
from Reiki and energy work, to breathwork, shamanic practices, and emotional wellbeing.
Not just what these modalities are -
but why they matter, how they work, and how they can support you in real, everyday life.
Because healing isn’t just something that happens in a session.

Introducing the Services.
We will be opening the doors officially very soon! Just around the corner! But for now, here is a list of the services our practitioner will be offering.
Each of these practices has been carefully chosen and studied over many years. They come from different traditions, but they all share the same intention and that is helping the body, mind, and energy system return to the balance within.
The services currently available include:
• Reiki | Resonance – A Japanese energy healing practice that supports relaxation, nervous system regulation, and energetic balance.
• Elemental Healing – A shamanic approach working with the five elements: earth, air, fire, water and spirit to restore inner harmony.
• Shamanic Soul Retrieval – A deeper healing practice focused on reclaiming parts of the self that may have been lost through trauma or difficult life experiences.
• Breathwork Foundations – Guided breath practices designed to help regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and reconnect you with your body. Delivered gently with a step by step educational and practical journey with your practitioner.
• Animal Reiki – Gentle Reiki energy offered to animals to support calmness, emotional balance, and wellbeing bookable via consult only.
Each service will be bookable from our website available soon.
Healing is not about fixing something that is broken.
Often it is about remembering the balance that was always there...we just simply forgot to feel safe and raise the internal white flag.

Shakti - awakening the power of the inner goddess.
Strength, Action and Authenticity.
The universal divine Feminine.
Awakening Shakti can come in many forms. My personal favourite is Kali ma and so I channel Kali Shakti when I'm feeling a little weak, or powerless. It is a fundamental part of my rituals and routines that balance my masculine and feminine energies weekly.

I can't meditate! I'm so done.
Am i even doing this right? Maybe if I change positions. I'm a bit thirsty. OMG I forgot to get the sauce for dinner tonight. That assignment is due in a couple of days, I really need to do that. I think the rubbish needs to go out tonight. Is that my dog barking? I think my friend just text back, I need to respond. I have this thing coming up next year that I need to worry about right now.
