Navigating the world of friendships and dating can be tough for anyone, but it poses unique challenges for neurodivergent teens and young adults. This episode brings light to the transformative "Steps to Connect" program, developed by Bindy Taylor and myself, specifically designed to empower these individuals as they forge meaningful connections. By combining mindset coaching, relationship-building techniques, and self-awareness practices, the program guides participants through tangible skills for fostering friendships and navigating dating.
Listeners will discover the methodical approach of the program, beginning with establishing self-awareness and friendships, which sets the foundation for building relationships. Throughout the episode, Bindy and myself articulate the practical frameworks taught, such as how to initiate friendships, maintain connections, and handle complex social situations. They emphasise the importance of creating safe spaces where participants can explore their identities, share their experiences, and learn from one another in a supportive environment.
Our first Steps to Connect program has been so inspiring - we can't wait to facilitate our next one!
