I trained just once last week, three times the week before that, and twice so far this week.
So the magnitude of this chest pump just doesn’t compute, I feel like I’ve stolen something from someone. 😅 🤷♂️

I remember whenever I played sport as a kid, and even as an adult returning to tennis, I struggled with the game day jitters real bad.
It wasn’t even as though I was nervous, but still I would stuff up the simplest of things. And not all of the time, but quite often at crucial times that made me look bad, and that would really shatter my confidence.
No matter how much I practiced, it didn’t seem to translate to better game day performance.
But what I have found about bodybuilding is that it’s almost entirely about what you do in the lead up to the event, rather than what you do on the day. Sure you can still drop the ball on the day (getting your carb/water/sodium intakes wrong, tripping over on stage, or posing like s**t)…
But honestly, if you have a good physique & did the work to get lean you’ll still do fairly well.
This is one of the things that drew me to bodybuilding, asides from the years of grooming from watching Dragon Ball Z & Arnold Schwarzanaegger films. 👌🏽
But don’t get it twisted, there will still be things that you try to blame to deflect from blaming yourself:
-Disagreeing with the judges
-Other competitors’ superior genetics
-Speculation of other competitors who are on PED’s (in tested comps)
-Issues during peak week
-Issues throughout your prep
-Other people not understanding & supporting you fully
Ultimately these excuses, while they can be legitimate, are irrelevant. It all just boils down to YOU needing to work harder or to spend more time working towards building a competitive physique.
You might need to work harder during prep to get leaner, spend more time on your posing & stage presence, or perhaps you need to re-evaluate your actions during the off-season to ensure you grow sufficiently.
It’s all on you, nobody to blame but yourself.
You can celebrate the highs with friends & family, but the majority of the process is YOU against YOU.
This works well for someone who is comfortable spending time alone, but then you still get to share the highs with your loved ones along the way.
And I also love this about bodybuilding / physique sports, it just suits me & I’ll always love it.

Slow-gress…
It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
It’s a lifestyle, not a trend.

You’ve got to actually become the person you want to be if you want to change…
Otherwise it’s just like putting on the costume of ‘shredded fitness influencer’ for example, but as soon as you take off the costume you’re back to being yourself with no idea how to get or maintain a lean physique.
When I first started working full time at 17 y/o I had to do a ‘bird personality-type test’ (yeah I know, google it). My results came back as a strong ‘dove/owl’ combo - someone who is quiet, non-confrontational, makes decisions based on data & is great with procedures.
These qualities would be great for an engineer, but not so great for an aspiring sales rep, manager or entrepreneur.
I didn’t want to accept that my fate had been sealed before my adult life had even begun.
So over the course of the next 3 years I worked on becoming more outgoing, putting myself in uncomfortable situations, forming new relationships, and doing things in the spur of the moment to prevent me from becoming paralysed by analysis.
It was hard at first, but I persevered. I also made huge leaps in my career at the time & consistently came back with ‘bird test’ results that showed me moving towards the person I aspired to be which surprised & impressed my manager.
I’d go on to build our solar wholesale business up to $14 Mil /annum from $1.5 Mil when I took over the sector, topping sales in the country. 🙌🏽
So I’m not saying don’t be yourself, you don’t need to fundamentally change who you are, but you need to align your actions & lifestyle with your goals.
If you want to be an influencer or bodybuilder, there are certain habits & lifestyle factors that will have a big impact on your ability to succeed. 👇🏽
Are you a sedentary person? Like to eat a 3000 calorie burger & loaded shake combo every weekend? Hate going to the gym?
These are things that you’ll need to address, but fortunately things that you can work on & overcome if you do the work.
So in short - Figure out exactly who the person you want to be is, align your actions accordingly & give it time.
If you’re really stuck drop me a DM. 🤝🏼

December Dump 📸
But light on the pics but plenty of mems.
One thing I’d like to do better this year is capture moments more often. But sometimes it’s nice to just enjoy a moment without pulling out your phone ja’feel?

This was me 6 months ago, versus now…
It’s not that I want to get back to this level of body fat, nor that I am not happy with how I look right now.
I just don’t feel healthy or at my best.
So I’m going to continue with my current (so far unsuccessful) diet, even if I’m not 100% locked in or seeing amazing progress.
Because at the end of the day I just want to feel better, and to do that I need to re-establish some good habits.
So to do this I’ve decided to participate in the Challenge over the next two months to hold myself accountable & provide a strict time-frame for these goals.
Throughout this time I want to:
Improve my sleep & energy levels
Improve my digestive health
Rely less on caffeine & hyperpalatable foods for stimulation
Lose 4 kilos
And to do this I’m going to:
Prioritise my training when planning my day
Cook all but one of my meals each week
Eat min 300gm fruit & veg (each) per day
Drink no alcohol (except for two events that have been booked in for some time 🤫)
Take weekly progress photos on my stories
Let’s see what we can do 🤝 and check out the 66 Challenge if you’re keen to build some new healthy habits going into 2025 with me!

My last post might have come across a bit negative or critical for some of you, so here’s something about all the great things I’ve accomplished this year.
Look, I just call it being real & honest. 😂
Anyway, the good things.
In 2024 I set out to:
1️⃣ Win a bodybuilding overall title - I took out two, won a pro card & made four other top 3 placings at national level.
2️⃣ Become known as a “real” bodybuilding coach, which previously seemed impossible with the amount of great coaches in Adelaide alone.
Using multiple lead gen & brand awareness strategies we have now collectively coached 7 athletes (excluding myself), 5 of them this year & another 12 planned for 2025 so far from multiple states.
3️⃣ Bring on a sub-contractor, and actually have them stick around for longer than 3 months. Safe to say Sam & Dylan have both remained consistent & dedicated to developing themselves & their coaching roster with INTG.
4️⃣ Find a hobby outside of gym/fitness that didn’t involve looking at a screen. Ngl getting into Warhammer 40K has been very expensive but absolutely nailed the brief of what I was looking for here.
5️⃣ And perhaps the proudest moment of all in beginning the process of building our family beach side home together 💓
I promise next year will be just as good, if not better.

I used to think the world owed me something…
That I was hard done by, and maybe I was in a lot of ways but that doesn’t mean s**t.
The sooner you realise you are 100% responsible for your actions & where you’re at in life, the sooner you’ll start getting somewhere.
This year in business has been great, but in all honesty I haven’t done half the things I set out to.
And while it’s already shaping up to be a huge 2025, I know that if I apply myself properly like when I was in my first two years of business, things will be drastically different.
So I am content with how the year went, and I also accept that I am the sole reason hasn’t reached the next level so to speak.
All said & done, are you going to blame the world for your short comings, or are you ready to go get what you’re chasing?
Health, fitness, career/business, family, it’s all relevant.
