What can children learn through horses?

Sometimes, quite a lot.

Confidence. Communication. Patience. Observation. Responsibility.

But the beautiful thing is that every child is different. What one child takes from an experience with a horse may be completely different from what another child discovers.

That's what makes Equine Assisted Learning so meaningful. It's not about putting children into a box or expecting the same outcome for everyone. It's about creating experiences where they can explore, practise and learn in their own way.

Horses have a wonderful way of making us slow down, notice and connect.

A PROUD MOMENT FOR ALKIRA ADINA EQUESTRIAN! āœØļø

Weā€™re thrilled to share that Alkira Adina Equestrian has been named a finalist in the 2026 Australian Professionals Small Business Champion Awards in the Childrenā€™s Educational Services category! šŸ¤Ž

This recognition means so much to us, particularly because it acknowledges the work of our teachers and the role they play in supporting children through early childhood intervention and education.

At Alkira Adina Equestrian, we believe that learning can happen in many different ways. Through our work with horses, we create opportunities for children to develop confidence, communication, patience and a deeper understanding of themselves and others.

Behind every lesson and every learning experience is a team that cares deeply about the children they work with and the difference they can make.

Thereā€™s something pretty special about watching a child find their confidence around horses. šŸ“ā¤ļø

We recently received this lovely feedback from J.D. after her two daughters came for a visit.

Her youngest was feeling quite shy and unsure about getting on a horse. With Willā€™s calm and patient approach, she was given the time and space to build her confidence at her own pace.

And by the end of the lesson, she was trotting! šŸ„¹

Her mum shared:

ā€œWatching her go from being apprehensive to feeling so proud, confident and excited was incredibly special.ā€

This is one of the reasons we love what we do. Sometimes itā€™s not about how much a child learns in one lesson. Itā€™s about the little moments where they realise they can do something they werenā€™t sure they could do.

For adults exploring Equine Assisted Learning, it's a place to build knowledge and receive guidance as they work towards becoming a Facilitator. There's room to keep learning at different stages of the journey.

Yesterday was such a special day, and if you were watching along thinking, ā€œI wish I could have been thereā€, we have good news.

The December Horsemanship Series is coming. šŸ¤Ž

Another opportunity to slow down, learn, ask questions, spend time with the horses and continue developing your horsemanship.
Whether youā€™ve joined us before or this will be your first time, thereā€™s always something new to take away.

Our Horsemanship Series was a real success, and we couldnā€™t be more grateful to everyone who helped make it happen. šŸ¤Ž

A huge thank you to our riders, families, supporters, volunteers, instructors, event team, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to bring the day together. Your time, energy and support made this event truly special.

And to our wonderful horses, thank you for being such an important part of the day.
