What happens when learning moves beyond the classroom and into the real world? ⚡

One of the most memorable moments of our Experience Environment, Health and Nature Activities course was our visit to the Andelsbuch Power Station.
Set in a beautiful heritage-protected building, this inspiring place shows how sustainable energy has been part of the region for decades. The guided tour was charming, fascinating, and deeply appreciated by all participants.

For one teacher of Physics and Mathematics, this visit was especially meaningful — she is now taking fresh ideas, images, and real-life insights straight back into her classroom.
Moments like these remind us how powerful education can be when knowledge, experience, and inspiration come together.

A heartfelt thank you to Illwerke / VKW for the wonderful tour and the delicious snack afterwards — it was a true highlight for everyone.

🇪🇺🇫🇮🇩🇪🇦🇹 Connecting Austria, Finland & Germany!

Our Austrian team had a fantastic time together with wonderful participants from Finland and Germany. Throughout the course, we exchanged ideas, shared experiences, and explored nature through engaging outdoor activities.
It was a week full of learning, connection, and new perspectives - showing once again how powerful collaboration across borders can be.
Erasmust truly is an amazing opportunity for all of us as European citizens to learn from each other, grow together, and build meaningful connections.

🌿 Flashback: Inspiring excursion to Dornbirn ✨
Last week our participants enjoyed an inspiring excursion to the inatura Erlebnis Naturschau Dornbirn and the Kunstraum Dornbirn.

At inatura, we explored nature with all our senses — touching, experimenting, discovering and understanding. 🌱🔬

At Kunstraum Dornbirn, we experienced how nature, science and art can beautifully connect. The exhibition by Anna Hulačová shows how nature can inspire art and storytelling. Through her sculptures, she brings elements of nature, ecology and human interaction with the environment into artistic expression, opening new perspectives on our relationship with the natural world. 🎨🌍

Learning outside the classroom like this creates new ideas for teaching and makes environmental education vivid and engaging.

Kunstraum Dornbirn

Together with the participants of our course “Creating a Supportive & Sustainable School”, we visited Inatura in Dornbirn to take learning outdoors.

During an outdoor challenge in the Stadtgarten, teams explored native and invasive plants and identified as many species as possible within 45 minutes. The winning team discovered an incredible 61 different plants – and it’s only the beginning of spring.

A great example of curiosity, teamwork and experiential learning in action.

Thank you to the Inatura team for the inspiring collaboration and the wonderful time together.

🌿 Visiting the wonderful Monika Hofer from bluvion natural cosmetics in Lustenau!
Together with the participants of our course
“Creating a Supportive & Sustainable School”
we had the opportunity to dive into the world of natural cosmetics production.
We created our own beautifully scented organic body oils – made with almond oil, jojoba oil, mandarin, and lavender.
A wonderful combination for holistic care that nurishes our skin and is kind to nature.
🇦🇹 For some extra energy, we enjoyed a typical Austrian treat to taste: Schwedenbomben and crunchy apples 😋
✨ The best part:
This activity is simple and practical to implement in the classroom – ideal for working with students on the topics of
sustainability, self-care, and natural ingredients.

Was Erasmus+ Schulprojekte bewirken: Ergebnisse einer empirischen Analyse des BG Zehnergasse Wiener Neustadt

Eine empirische Analyse am BG Zehnergasse Wiener Neustadt zeigt, dass internationales, projektbasiertes Lernen die Lernmotivation deutlich steigert und Eigenverantwortung, Selbstorganisation sowie Selbstvertrauen von Schülerinnen und Schülern der Sekundarstufe II stärken kann.

Gleichzeitig machen die Ergebnisse klar, dass internationale Projekte eine sorgfältige pädagogische Planung und Begleitung benötigen. Entscheidend sind ausreichend Gestaltungsspielräume, gezielte Reflexionsphasen und die bewusste Berücksichtigung individueller Stärken.

Auf dieser Basis entfalten internationale Lernformate ihr volles Potenzial: Sie fördern neben fachlichen Kompetenzen auch interkulturelles Verständnis, europäische Werte und aktives gesellschaftliches Engagement. Damit sind sie ein unverzichtbarer Bestandteil moderner, ganzheitlicher Bildung, die junge Menschen nachhaltig auf die Herausforderungen einer globalisierten Welt vorbereitet.
