SAGE aims to promote gender equality through an intersectional perspective on activism and policy changes.
As a club of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna our main objective is to facilitate discussions of issues regarding gender equality in our community and to create a just environment for all the DA’s students and staff. We will continue our work to come up with appropriate policies to deal with harassment, any type of discrimination and abuse of power, to provide more education in the field of gender
equality, improve mental health services and finally to better support students throughout their academic year through the Ombudsleute. SAGE is responsible for the organization of a range of different activities that aim to empower students to become more knowledgeable of gender equality issues and aware of their own biases as well as to target systematic problems and contribute to more just environments. SAGE will focus particularly on maintaining an intersectional and non-Eurocentric perspective of the plethora of gender issues through a variety of events such as but not limited to movie discussion nights, a book club, exhibition viewings, excursions to pertinent organizations, workshops on consent, inclusivity and mental health, campaigns for important dates, participation in marches and protests, fundraisers for NGOs and informal social events. SAGE is a space for everyone: students and staff of any age, size, skin colour, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, ability, and everything in between.
