Our violin professor is Olga Martinova.
She studied under the legendary pedagogue Mikhail Waiman at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, sharing a class with Philippe Hirschhorn and in the same year as conductors Valery Gergiev and Vasily Sinaiski among others. She has performed as a soloist with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Bamberger Symphoniker, as well as symphony orchestras of St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Sofia and Barcelona, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Soloists Orchestra and other orchestras.
Among the conductors with whom she performed were Yehudi Menuhin, David Zinman, Hans Vonk, Vasily Sinaisky, Ken-Ichiro Kobayashi, Jean-Bernard Pommier, Hartmut Haenchen, Anton Kersjes, Tibor and Gilbert Varga, Anthony Ros-Marba, Arnold Katz, Lev Marquis and others. She was a prize winner of the All-Russian, All-Union and Tibor Varga competitions. Her career has led her to all the major stages in the world and she remains a sought-after pedagogue.
