You’ve been learning Serbian for a while now.
A year. Maybe two. Maybe even longer.

You’ve studied the cases.
You understand accusative, genitive, and the rest.
You know the tenses — past, present, future, even the imperative. You do your grammar homework… and you usually get it right.

And yet…

You still can’t speak as much as you want.
You still struggle to understand real conversations. Everything sounds like a blur.
You want to say something — but the words just don’t come.

Does this sound familiar?

It’s frustrating. Because it feels like you’re doing everything “right” — but nothing is changing.

Here’s the truth:

👉 You’re focusing too much on grammar — but grammar isn’t the problem.

You didn’t learn your native language through rules. No one sat you down and explained tenses or cases.

You learned by listening, repeating, and using the language — again and again.

And that’s exactly what’s missing.

👉 The real problem is lack of input and real use.

Understanding grammar doesn’t mean you can use it in real life.

Your brain needs repetition. A lot of it.

You need to:
• hear real Serbian
• read natural content
• retell what you hear
• write (even short texts)

Because your brain needs to hear, see, and say the same words and phrases many times
in different contexts before they become yours. Before you can actually use them.
