What I really love about living in Europe..
As you know, I was in Paris last week and it was a very spontaneous decision to go there. And this is what I absolutely love about Europe. All countries are just so close together, which makes traveling between them a piece of cake. You can just decide on one day that some time at the sea in Greece would be nice and then be there the next day.
And don't think that all countries in Europe are similar. They are sometimes, but other times they are very different. It's just so diverse and so close together.
Another thing I really like about Europe, or rather western Europe, is that the average person can have a very rich life with little or average money. What do I mean with rich life? You can go and meet your friends for coffee every day if you wish so. You can go to restaurants once in a while or pursue your hobbies because it won't break your bank account like in the US. 'Living life', whatever this might mean for you, is affordable and you have the time to do it.
And I am saying this because I am thinking about moving to the US. I am really curious about living there for a while, but I would really miss the life style we have here in Europe. Because to life such a life style in the US, you need to earn tons of money. And in many parts in Europe you get it by being an average person, having a 'normal' job.

Why I decided to create BlaBla..
After a couple of years of teaching at school, I realized that this was not enough. I did not only want to teach languages to kids, but to everyone. And it was really important to me that people learn languages differently than how I was learning English and Spanish.
Learning a new language, in my experience, was not a lot of fun and most of the things I did were also highly ineffective. I was mostly studying by myself at home, I was memorizing grammar rules, and I hardly talked to anyone because I simply didn’t have anyone to talk to. It was only later during my master when I started to immerse myself more in the Spanish community that I found out how much fun learning a new language can be. I started dancing salsa and you guys, I’m not kidding, my Spanish started flourishing.
And I wanted to give you that experience. I wanted to build a space for people from around the world where you can come together, connect with one another and learn languages together in a fun way. I wanted to build a space where you not only learn a language, but a new lifestyle too. And this is why I created BlaBla.
And yeah, I finally launched the BlaBla website (link in bio).
To be honest with you, it’s been a struggle to come to this point next to my full time job (I am still teaching at school) and I went through so many ups and downs, questioning myself and the worth of what I am doing. But now I can confidently say that I really think that I created something great. So, come through, check it out and get your free lesson. I really hope I can help you achieve all your language goals and have some fun together getting there.
I appreciate it so much that you are here and part of our BlaBla community. Let’s learn languages together 💛

Why I became a teacher…
Hi there! I’m Stefanie. I’m 29 years old and from Austria. As you probably know I am a language teacher, English and Spanish. But let me tell you why I even decided to become a teacher.
So, my mum’s a teacher and when I was a kid people around me kept telling me that one day I will be a teacher too. And I hated it. I was a very stubborn kid and as a principle I always did the opposite of what people told me to do. So, when everyone was so sure that one day I will be a teacher, I was sure that I want to be everything else except a teacher. My dad’s a pilot, why did nobody tell me that one day I will be a pilot?
But when I was in my last year of high school I seriously started thinking about being a teacher. Because what is true is that I am completely passionate about languages. I am in love with English and obsessed, you guys, obsessed with Spanish and its culture plus I really love being around people. So, being a teacher or being a language teacher didn’t sound so bad after all.
So, in a nutshell, I went to university, studied English and Spanish in the teacher training program and started working at a school teaching kids. And I can tell you - it was the best choice ever! I loooove being a teacher. Teaching is just such a beautiful thing to do, seeing kids, or people in general, making progress and learning something new - it’s just incredible.
I am genuinely grateful that I can do what I love and I can only hope to also spark some passion for languages in you 💛
