From zero coding experience to building Python scripts in just 5 days! ๐คฏ๐
Last weekโs Discovery Piscine โ Open to ALL was an absolute blast! We welcomed a fantastic group of curious minds to our campus, including many of our own 42 Vienna students who jumped right into the experience to learn and code together with the newcomers. ๐
Towards the end of the week, we had a very special highlight: an amazing keynote by Liad Magen! He talked about why we still need software developers in the age of AI. Our participants absolutely loved it, and it gave everyone the perfect boost of motivation for the final days! ๐๐ฅ
Together, they tackled the terminal, mastered loops, and discovered the true power of teamwork. No teachers, no boring lectures, just pure collaborative learning.

Our campus was buzzing yesterday during a very special Pizza Lunch! We were thrilled to welcome Andreas Gschwenter, CIO of Raiffeisen Bank International and Chairman of 42 Austria, along with Nicol Weghofer, a true 42 Vienna legend. Nicol was the first female student to finish our Common Core curriculum and is now already working as a Software Engineer at RBI while tackling her advanced modules! ๐๐ฆพ
Once the pizza boxes were open, the questions started rolling in. The discussion centered heavily around AI, its impact on software development, and how students can best prepare for an evolving tech landscape. ๐โจ๏ธ

Conquering the Transcendence project is a massive achievement that requires a lot of grit, teamwork, and late night coding sessions. For their final project, this team decided to go all in and take on the complex challenge of building a real time multiplayer poker game.

Our students turned out in great numbers last Wednesday for an incredible Knowledge Sharing session with Peter! With 15 years of experience in the industry, Peter gave us a front row seat to the power of the Rust programming language. ๐๐ฆพ
The workshop focused on how Rust is revolutionizing systems programming by making it safer and more efficient compared to traditional C. Our community explored real world vulnerabilities and learned how Rust prevents them through smarter API design and security features.
Seeing so many of our students actively participating and asking deep technical questions is what peer to peer learning is all about. Thank you Peter for an inspiring afternoon and for showing us what is possible in the open source world! โจ
