The master's degree project "Leo" is a short film about an orphan boy who hates his pigment spots and loses his self-love overtime.

His hopes of getting adopted are also fading while time passes. The film is expected to be finished in summer 2022.

Last week we showed a preview of our short film at our university's "Werkschau" as the final presentation of our project.

We received a lot of lovely and helpful feedback and will continue to improve and finalize the film in the upcoming weeks.

We would like to thank everyone who stopped by at our booth and gave us further motivation! All the kind words we received there as well as on this page so far make us very proud of what we accomplished so far. We are really looking forward to the end result and your reactions to the final film. A big thank you to each and everyone of you wgo follows us here as well as to the entire team that made the implementation of the project possible in the first place! Love you so much ❤️❤️

You have also met Anna in a previous post. The textured 3D model shows Leo's best friend in her favorite dress, which she also wears in the film. Have you already seen the other outfit ideas on our website? 😊

You already know our main character "Leo". This is the textured 3D model of him, wearing his favorite T-shirt with a fire salamander printed on it. Check out his other outfits too. How do you like Leo’s pigment spots? 😊

On May 6th, 2022 we will present our production process for the first time at the FMX conference in Stuttgart.

The “FMX - Film and Media Exchange” is an event that focuses on animations, effects, gaming and immersive media. The conference takes place annually in the House of Economy in Stuttgart/Germany over several days. The speakers come from different studios from all over the world and talk about their projects, new tools and pipelines and also give workshops. At the Recruiting Hubs you can also get in touch with employers and employees from the various studios.

This year we got the chance to present our animated short film as "School Project" there! 🥳

Leo starts to hate his pigment spots after a while and even blames them for all his problems. He is so obsessed with the thought of his pigment spots being bad, that he begins to imagine them as harmful creatures that want to hurt him! 👹

In this Render Target you can see Leo watching a little ladybug crawling over his hand. Interesting, that his spots are so similar to those on Leo’s body. 🐞

In the past few weeks we have been working on the 3D environment and the so-called “Render Targets”. Our concept artist painted over the 3D modeled scene to give a first impression of the textures and the lighting moods of the finished film. In this scene Leo proudly feels like a superhero! He dreams to be the biggest saviour of the world 💪🏼

As we mentioned in our previous post, Anna is Leo’s roommate and also his very best friend. Since she is a little older than him and Leo seems like a little brother to her. Anna is a very smart and empathetic girl. She wears a cozy dress over her shirt and pants. Her hair is usually tied into two buns. In addition, she constantly misplaces her red glasses, which she often cannot find without Leo's help. Just like him, Anna loves to draw and do handicrafts.

Anna’s design was also made by our team leader and our concept artist
