WARNING

The following behaviours are Study Hazards.

PROCRASTINATION:
Delay is disastrous. Waiting, not starting will get you nowhere very fast. There is no better time than to start working.

INDECISION:
Just start, don't spend too much time thinking. This valuable time could be productive. You can change your methods later, but at least get started on something.

SCRIBBLING:
Make meaningfull notes, don't scribble information hoping you will understand it later. When you look at messy notes your mind will also be messy. You will have to start from the beginning by reading the original source of information. Before a test or exam you won't have time for this.

UNREALISTIC VOCABULARY:
You will not understand every word you read, and you won't be able to remember the exact meaning of each word nor the spelling. Be realistic, use words that are familiar to you, slowly increase your vocabulary with the aid of a dictionary and thesaurus. Rather use simpler words correctly than use difficult words incorrectly. Make a word list and add a few new words every day. Your vocabulary will increase rapidly.

PRESSURE MOTIVATION:
Don't kid yourself. You don't work better under pressure. Don't leave it till the last moment to start studying. Draw up a study programme, giving yourself adequate time before the examinations to start reviewing your work. You will see the rewards in your exam results plus you will retain the information for much longer.
You will convince yourself that you work better when the pressure is on. You have left yourself no choice. If you give yourself only a few days to study you might be lucky enough to pass the exam, but this is short-term memory and you won't retain the information for very long.

Courtesy of the future: , where you seize the moment and start working at the right time, here, it's not too later to get started.
