If you are looking to donate to something this holiday season, consider giving some money to Talin Dolls Handicraft Project for Women, an amazing initiative run by Gayane Khachatryan supporting women and children in the villages near Talin. Many of the first aid village trainings conducted by Aid to Armenia were organized through this program.

This summer is flying by but our volunteers are as busy as ever! In the last couple weeks, we've welcomed Gayane as a new Gyumri instructor who will help Alec with classes. Talene has moved back to Yerevan and will continue classes from there. We had a visit from Garine's family and on a separate occassion, taught a class full of nurses (mostly review for them).
And all the while, meeting new friends along the way. Keep up the good work, guys!

Talene and Garinè traveled to the village of Bandivan yesterday. There was a big turnout of mothers wanting to learn first aid.
The nurse for the village, Emma, was very helpful and informative. Everyone had a great time! Our volunteers also took a moment to enjoy Armenia's beautiful wildflowers.

It's been a few busy weeks for our volunteers in Gyumri. They have teamed up with world vision to teach first aid classes locally and in neighboring villages and they've met wonderful people along the way.
Talene, Gariné and Alec are a great team and we can't wait to see what else they'll accomplish in Gyumri in the next few weeks!

Talene and our newest volunteer, Garinè, spent their first week in Gyumri going to the village of Amasia and practicing their first aid training on the World Vision staff. The staff were good sports and our volunteers had a chance to explore Amasia.

Keeping our volunteers busy this week. Talene and Melina went to 3 villages; Tatul, Hatsashen, and Agarakavan.
Talene will be moving to Gyumri for the next 2 months working along with World Vision to continue training villagers in first aid, while Melina will be heading back to America soon where she'll be starting her doctorate program in occupational therapy at USC! So proud of our volunteers!

This past week our volunteers, Talene and Melina, through Birthright Armenia, went on their first solo teaching excursion to the village of Ashnak. They taught local mothers general first aid and choking safety. A blood pressure machine was also given to the nurses to use at this outpost. As you can see, they had to compare it with their techniques. It was a great experience!
