VEZILKA – The North Macedonian AI Factory Antenna as a Key Enabler in the Innovation Ecosystem

During the seminar, Prof. Mishev will present how VEZILKA, North Macedonia's AI Factory Antenna, supports the country's innovation ecosystem by connecting the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH), the AI Factory Antenna (AIFA), and the National Competence Centre (NCC). The presentation will also explore opportunities for collaboration with IIAP in key domains, including:

👤 About the Speaker
Prof. Anastas Mishev is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia. With experience in more than 40 international projects, he has played a pivotal role in developing digital and research infrastructures across Southeast Europe. He serves on the Governance Board of the EOSC Association, the Governing Board of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, and has been instrumental in advancing Open Science initiatives and the European Open Science Cloud in North Macedonia.
This seminar offers an excellent opportunity for researchers, innovators, and students interested in AI infrastructures, European research collaboration, and the future of digital innovation.

Tomorrow marks the start of the workshop “MathAI: Artificial Intelligence toward Space and Time”, held within the CSIT conference at the Institute of Informatics and Automation Problems.

Dedicated to advancing both fundamental and applied research in Artificial Intelligence, the workshop also aims to strengthen international scientific collaboration. It is organized within the framework of the International State Scientific Program named after Academician Victor Ambartsumian.

The program features five thematic sessions—“AI Foresight,” “AI Factory,” “AI Math,” “Agentic,” and a concluding AI Round Table—bringing together researchers from Armenia and abroad. Discussions will span machine learning, agent-based systems, cybersecurity, combinatorial optimization, mathematical foundations of AI, and emerging applications across science, engineering, and society.

We are also proud to acknowledge the Program Committee, whose expertise and leadership made this workshop possible.

Computer Science and Information Technologies - CSIT 2027

We are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on High-Performance Computing collaboration between the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia and the National Science and Technology Development Agency, acting through the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC NSTDA), Thailand.

This partnership marks an important step toward strengthening international cooperation in high-performance computing, research, innovation, and advanced digital technologies between Armenia and Thailand.

🌌 Exploring the Universe with Supercomputing 🌌

At the Aznavour Supercomputing Center ( ), we’re proud to support research that unlocks the mysteries of the Universe.

Recent publications by Dr. Narek Sahakyan (ICRANet-Armenia) and collaborators showcase how high-performance computing and artificial intelligence are transforming the study of blazars-some of the most powerful astrophysical sources in the Universe. Our infrastructure contributed to the computational work behind these breakthroughs.

Ս․թ․ փետրվարի 18-ին Ինֆորմատիկայի և ավտոմատացման պրոբլեմների ինստիտուտ-ը հյուրընկալեց «էլԿամպուս․ սոցիալական հեռավորություն պահպանող և ներառական կամպուսային կրթության խթանումը Հայաստանի բուհերում» (eCAMPUS) ծրագրի աշխատանքային փաթեթ 4-ի (WP4) շրջանակում առաջին առցանց հանդիպումը։ Աշխատանքային փաթեթը համակոորդինացվում է Ինֆորմատիկայի և ավտոմատացման պրոբլեմների ինստիտուտ / IIAPի և Շվեդիայի թագավորական տեխնոլոգիական ինստիտուտի կողմից։

Աշխատանքային փաթեթ 4-ը ներառում է չորս գործողություն։ Առաջին գործողության նպատակն է եվրոպական լավագույն փորձի հիման վրա մշակել զեկույց, որը կսահմանի էլեկտրոնային ուսուցման հարթակի ձևաչափը, ընդհանուր սկզբունքները, մեթոդաբանությունն ու կառուցվածքը։

Քննարկումների ընթացքում ընդգծվեց, որ հարթակը պետք է ապահովի լայն հնարավորություններ դասավանդողների և ուսանողների համար՝ հնարավորություն տալով կիրառել բազմազան թվային գործիքներ և արդյունավետորեն հասնել կրթական նպատակներին։ Եվրոպական գործընկեր համալսարանները կարևորեցին արհեստական բանականության ներառումը ընդհանուր գործիքակազմում՝ նշելով, որ այն կարող է զգալիորեն ընդլայնել ինչպես ուսանողների, այնպես էլ դասավանդողների հնարավորությունները։

ՀՀ համալսարանների ներկայացուցիչները շեշտեցին, որ ստեղծվող հարթակը պետք է լինի առավել զարգացած և կատարելագործված, քան նախկինում կիրառված հարթակներն ու գործիքները, քանի որ դրա արդյունավետությունն ուղղակիորեն ազդում է դասավանդման, ուսուցման և գնահատման որակի վրա։

Հանդիպման ավարտին մասնակիցները պայմանավորվեցին ծրագրով սահմանված վերջնաժամկետում ներկայացնել զեկույցը՝ հիմք ստեղծելով հետագա գործողությունների իրականացման համար։

On February 18, 2026, the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of NAS RA hosted the first online meeting within the framework of Work Package 4 (WP4) of the eCAMPUS project — Fostering Socially Distanced and Inclusive On-Campus Education in Armenian HEIs. The work package is jointly coordinated by IIAP and KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

WP4 includes four key activities. The objective of the first activity is to develop a report, based on European best practices, that will define the format, general principles, methodology, and structure of the e-learning platform.

During the discussions, it was emphasized that the platform should provide broad opportunities for both lecturers and students, enabling them to use diverse digital tools and achieve educational objectives effectively. European partner universities highlighted the importance of integrating artificial intelligence into the overall toolkit, noting that it can significantly expand the capabilities of both students and academic staff.

Representatives of Armenian universities stressed that the platform to be developed should be more advanced and refined than previously used platforms and tools, as its effectiveness directly impacts the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants agreed to submit the report within the project’s established deadline, thereby laying the foundation for the implementation of subsequent activities.
