NEEDS vs WANTS🇦🇬

Understanding this can change your entire financial life 💡

👉 Needs = Things you MUST have to live

• Rent / Mortgage 🏡

• Food 🍽️

• Utilities 💡

• Transportation 🚗

👉 Wants = Things you LIKE but can live without

• Eating out 🍔

• New clothes 👕

• Gadgets 📱

• Entertainment 🎉

👀 The problem?

We often treat wants like needs

💥 That’s how budgets get out of control

💡 Simple Rule:

Take care of your needs first, then enjoy your wants responsibly

📌 You don’t have to cut out fun…

Just make sure it fits your budget

Control your spending, or it will control you💰

WHAT SHOULD I INVEST IN?

This is one of the questions I get asked all the time…

Person: Hey, what’s a good investment right now?
Me: That depends… what are you investing for?
Person: …to make money.

👀 And that’s where the conversation usually changes.

Because before choosing any investment, you need 3 key things:

🎯 1. Your Goal (Objective)

Are you saving for a house? Retirement? A business?

👉 No goal = no clear direction

⏳ 2. Your Timeframe

How long can you leave the money invested?

👉 1 year vs 10 years = very different strategies

⚖️ 3. Your Risk Tolerance

Can you handle ups and downs without panicking?

👉 Higher returns usually come with higher risk

💡 The truth is:

There is no “one-size-fits-all” investment.

As much as I’d love to give quick answers, I’m careful—because the right investment for one person could be the wrong one for another.

📌 The real first step isn’t investing… it’s understanding YOUR plan.

So next time you ask:
What should I invest in?

Start with:

👉 What am I investing for?

THE FASTER YOU PAY, THE LESS YOU PAY ...

When it comes to loans or mortgages, how often you pay can make a BIG difference.
Weekly or bi-weekly payments can actually cost you LESS than monthly payments. Bi-weekly = every 2 weeks (26 payments a year)
That adds up to 13 full monthly payments instead of 12

Let’s break it down

Loan Amount: $200,000
Interest Rate: 5%
Term: 25 years

Option 1: Monthly Payments
Payment: $1,169/month
Total Paid Over Time: $350,700
Interest Paid: $150,700

Option 2: Bi-Weekly Payments
Payment: $585 every 2 weeks
(That’s 26 payments = 13 monthly payments/year )

Total Paid Over Time: ~$325,000
Interest Paid: ~$125,000

Savings:
You can save $25,000 in interest if pay your loan Bi-weekly
AND pay off your loan years earlier

Why this works:
You make one extra payment each year
Your balance goes down faster
Less interest builds up over time

Small, more frequent payments = BIG long-term savings

Always check with your lender before switching payment schedules.

Don’t just borrow money… manage it wisely

Money Goals + Budgeting Made Simple

Let’s talk about something that can change your life: telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.

Set Your Money Goals
Before you budget, ask yourself:
What am I working toward?

Your goals can be:
Short-term: Buying a phone, save $2,000, clear a small bill
Medium-term: School expenses, start a business
Long-term: Buy land, build a home, retire comfortably

Tip: Make your goals SMART
Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Realistic
Time-bound

Example:
Save $500 in 5 months = clearer than "I want to save money”

Budgeting
A budget is simply a plan for your money.

Start with this easy formula:
Income – Expenses = What’s Left (Save or Invest!)

Break it down:
Essentials (food, bills, transport)
Wants (eating out, entertainment)
Savings (pay yourself first!)

Try this beginner rule:
50% Needs
30% Wants
20% Savings

Quick Action Challenge
This week:
1. Write down ONE money goal
2. Track EVERYTHING you spend for 3 days
3. See where your money is really going

Let’s talk!
What’s ONE financial goal you’re working on right now?

29/03/2026

There’s a lot of conversation right now about growth and wealth creation. For many people, the goal is simple: double their personal wealth over the next 10 years.

It sounds great on paper, right? But let’s be honest, money doesn’t just double because time passes or the calendar flips to a new year.

Think of it like planting a mango tree. You can’t just wish for fruit. You have to choose the right soil, water it under the hot sun, and protect it from strong winds. The same principle applies to money. If you simply leave it sitting in a bank account, inflation(the rising cost of everyday essentials like bread, gas, and rent) acts like a caterpillar, eating away at your mango fruit tree before it even has a chance to grow.

Doubling your wealth isn’t about waiting for the economy to improve. It’s about taking intentional actions:

1. Strategic Investing– Moving beyond savings accounts and putting your money to work( Investing in stock market or investing into your own business)
2. Financial Literacy – Understanding how inflation impacts your purchasing power and learning how to stay ahead of rising costs.
3. New Tools – Leveraging innovations like digital currencies(D Cash) and shifts in regional investment opportunities.

Welcome to Wadadli Financial Literacy Hub. I’m here to break these ideas down into practical steps you can actually use.
