Yesterday, “The Lit Project” concluded its first-ever Kindergarten prep camp. Students who will be starting elementary school in September participated in an eventful week of literacy, numeracy, and fine and gross motor skills development.

“The Lit Project” sincerely thanks the parents for supporting this initiative and for entrusting us with their little ones. It was a pleasure interacting with the children.

Thank you to the management and staff of the Holy Trinity Primary School for allowing us to utilize the space as we familiarize students with their new learning environment.

Also, we would like to thank Mrs Lillian Beazer, The Glass Lounge Restaurant, Mrs Paula Henry and Shimie’s sweet treats for contributing and assisting with meals for the past five days. Each day the students enjoyed a healthy and delicious meal and at the end of the week they were rewarded with goodie bags from
Shimie’s sweet treats. Heartfelt THANK YOU!

Special thank you to “The Lit Project” team for being consistent and committed to the advancement of literacy skills and building a solid foundation for our learners.

Day 4 in the books🎉🥳 Today, we kept practicing our response to the bell, and the students have been improving every day👏👏

We have been combining our sight words to form and read sentences at our literacy station. Students worked on numerals, number names, and one-to-one correspondence in the numeracy station. Fine motor skills continued to develop through tracing, cutting, and tearing. Gross motor skills included an obstacle course for students to practice coordination and balancing skills 🎉

Yesterday, we came to the end of our “One Island, Many Stories - Art and Culture Camp.” Every Saturday for the past four weeks was filled with adventures, traditional stories, art, and writing 📝🎨👩‍🎨🧑‍🎨✨.

We have been in awe of our artists' creations. The pieces the children made are beautiful. Special thanks to our project leader, Garen Cuffy, for guiding the students with his talent and expertise.

Thanks to the parents for trusting The Lit Project team in this venture. We appreciate you!

Thanks also to our sponsors, GLAN through The BeFoundation, for funding this important project that helped us embrace and share our culture and traditions. Culture is who we are, our way of life, and what makes us unique.

Thank you to all the presenters, cultural contributors, and tour guides. We have learned a vast array of facts, history, and traditions over the past few weeks.

Thanks to our photographer, Mohamid Walbrook, for capturing the progress of the artists and their paintings.

Special thanks to The Glass Lounge Restaurant, Wa’ Omoni’s Bestaurant, and Lafratus Webber for always making sure there was a meal and a drink during our sessions. Your efforts haven't gone unnoticed.

Thank you to the team members for showing up every Saturday🫡. Your time and contributions are invaluable. Now, The Lit Project team is moving on to the next project 😎.

Thanks to EVERYONE who made this project a success ✨🎉. Stay tuned for our official exhibition date⏳🎉🥳.
