Cultivate Big- Thinking

The Character Building ----- Balance the resume virtues and Eulogy virtues. Recently I’ve been thinking about the difference between
the résumé virtues and the eulogy virtues. The résumé
virtues are the ones you list on your résumé, the skills that
you bring to the job market and that contribute to external
success. The eulogy virtues are deeper. They’re the
virtues that get talked about at your funeral, the ones that
exist at the core of your being—whether you are kind, brave, honest, or faithful; what kind of relationships you
formed. Most of us would say that the eulogy virtues are more
important than the résumé virtues, but I confess that for
long stretches of my life, I’ve spent more time thinking
about the latter than the former. Our education system
is certainly oriented around the résumé virtues more than
the eulogy ones.

I firmly believe that without independently verifying the information we receive regarding the world, religion, and financial success, our personal beliefs will not evolve. To achieve success in all endeavors, it is imperative to thoroughly investigate and scrutinize matters using evidence-based perspectives.

Knowledge is power when you use it constructively. Closely allied
to intelligence, excusitis is some incorrect thinking about knowledge. We often hear that knowledge is power. But this statement is only a half-truth. Knowledge is only potential power. Knowledge is power only when put to use and then only when the use made of it is constructive.
The story is told that the great scientist Einstein was once asked how many feet are in a mile. Einstein's reply was "I don't know; Why should I fill my brain with facts I can find in two minutes in any standard reference book?"
Einstein taught us a big lesson. He felt it was more important
to use your mind to think than to use it as a warehouse for facts
