Save it as a reminder. 💜
After a hard session, a drop in HRV the next day is normal. You applied stress; your body needs to process it. When it has enough reserves, HRV bounces back.
But low HRV can signal that your reserves are limited. Push for a hard session, and you may feel sluggish, with higher heart rate and lactate than normal - and recovery may take longer.
Don’t get stressed. Be aware. Track your HRV and learn your body.
A lower HRV reading after a hard session isn’t automatically a bad sign. You gave your body a strong stimulus, and now it needs to process that stress.
What matters is how your body responds afterwards.
When HRV returns towards your normal range, it usually suggests that your body is coping well. But when it remains low - especially when you also feel tired or sluggish - it may be a sign that your available reserves are limited.
You can still follow your plan and do the next hard session. But it may not be the same session physiologically: your heart rate and lactate may be higher at the same pace, the effort may feel harder, and you may need more time to recover afterwards.
This doesn’t mean that one low reading should control your training or make you anxious. HRV is information - not a command.
I use the HRV4Training app to measure my HRV every morning under consistent conditions. For me, morning HRV is more informative for assessing training readiness and helps me follow my individual trend over time.
The goal isn’t to chase perfect numbers. It’s to make better-informed training decisions and learn your own patterns.

Some lessons take years to understand.
I wish I had listened earlier.
Mobility is not about becoming more flexible than everyone else. It’s about keeping your body capable for as long as possible.
