To catch fire,to take breath,to give battle, to cast anchor, to send word,to bring word,to give ear,to lay siege,to set sail,to lose heart,to set foot,to leave home,to strike root,to take offence etc.

Use of very/very much:

Very is used before adjective (simple adjective, present participle, Past participle) on the other hand 'Very much' is used before verbs and comparative degree of adjective.
For instance :
1.I am very sorry (simple adjective).
2.This is very much/much better(com degree of adjective).
3.She is very beautiful (simple adjective).
4.I am very disturbed to hear the news (past participle of adjective, when v3 follow infinitive then v3 is considered adjective).
5.I am very much disturbed by the enemies (V3,when v3 follow by plus agent then it is only V3 not adjective).
6.The book is very interesting (present participle of adjective).
7.A new by-pass is very much needed here(v3 only verb).
8.I am very worried about my future (simple adjective).
9.I am very frightened of the snakes (adjective).

Today, I am going to explain the subtle difference between the following sentences :
1.He didn’t go there.
2.He couldn’t go there.
Although both sentences semantically bear same meaning but they have subtle difference. First sentence shows deliberate action whereas second one shows inability of subject.

Today,I am going to explain a word 'Believe 'as a verb as follows:
1.I believe _ this news.
2.I believe _ God.
3.I believe _this organisation.
If you are told to fill up these blanks by using preposition, how you can understand whether they need prepositions or not.I am here to make you understand :If believe means think something true then no need preposition, on the other hand if believe means faith someone or something then use preposition 'In'.See the examples :
1.I believe this news. (no preposition).
2.I believe in God.(need preposition).
3.I believe in this organisation. (need preposition).

Can=present abilities, permission, strength,skill.
May=permission, possibility, prayer etc.
Will=future intention, prediction, inference.
Shall=willingness, formality-permission,request.
Must=necessity/advice,assumption.
Could=past of can,possibility (weak).
Might=past of may,least possibility.
Would=past of will/shall,condition.
Should=advice,expectation.
Ought to=duty,responsibility, morality.
Used to=past habits (regular action).
Need=necessity.
Dare=courage.
*Can=ability of somebody.
*May=possibility of something.
*Shall=would(probability, prediction).
Shall=should(permission, request).

It is incorrect because if Be verbs are used as main verbs then it is also called linking verbs,without complement linking verbs are not used, on the top of that complement is used after the linking verbs.
There was a king (here 'There' is introductory or dummy subject).
