Health Is My Wealth – Lacnor Back to School Program in collaboration with the Dubai Health Authority inspired our students with an engaging orientation on the power of a healthy, balanced diet 🥦🥛—followed by a high-energy Zumba session that had everyone moving! 💃🕺 Big smiles all around as students enjoyed the delicious goodies too. Celebrating Innovation and Sustainability: A Proud Achievement for Our Students at the UoF Sustainability Research Forum 2025

St. Mary’s is thrilled to share a moment of pride and accomplishment for our school community! As a school, we are committed to nurturing globally aware, innovative, and environmentally responsible learners. It is with great excitement that we announce our recent participation in the University of Fujairah Sustainability Research Third Forum 2025, held on May 22, 2025.

This prestigious event, organized by the University of Fujairah. The forum provided a platform for students across the UAE to share research ideas and prototypes promoting sustainable solutions to global challenges.

Our talented Grade 9 students—Wadeema Sultan Alsamahi, Raghed Ait Mohamed, Youmn Abdulsalam Aldulaimi, and Meina Tarig—participated in the Innovation Category of the student research competition. Competing against schools from across Fujairah, they showcased their original research through a creative poster presentation supported by a working prototype.

We are incredibly proud to announce that our students secured 2nd place in the Innovation Category! Their project, titled “Solar Barjeel: Reviving Heritage, Fueling Tomorrow,” is a powerful representation of how tradition and technology can work hand in hand to build a sustainable future. The project draws inspiration from the Barjeel (wind tower), a traditional Emirati architectural element historically used for natural ventilation and cooling. By integrating this cultural symbol with modern solar technology, the students proposed an innovative design to combat high energy consumption and extreme heat—two critical challenges in the UAE’s environment.
