🌟 FROM AN ENGLISH LEARNER TO A 2ND VOICE"

Mr. Ajantha Dayarathna🫡from Anuradhapura has always been enthusiastic about learning English and exploring new challenges.

He never imagined that his English-learning journey would lead him to perform an emotional English cover song. But when he accepted the BEAT – “Let Me Be the 2nd Voice” Challenge, he stepped outside his comfort zone.

This was not simply about singing a familiar song. Ajantha chose “You Are The Reason” by Calum Scott—a song demanding pronunciation, emotional expression, confidence, interpretation and practice.

He accepted the challenge to learn, practise, perform and find his own voice through English.

Today, our EOC-2 Alpha Intermediate learners completed **Day 02 of their Final Assessment** through individual presentations, putting their learning, preparation and communication skills into practice.

The assessment was conducted under the responsibility of a **three-member CEPD Assessment Panel**, providing a structured and professional environment for learners to demonstrate what they had learned throughout their journey.

Yesterday, they faced practical situations.

Today, they stood before the assessors, presented their ideas and performed.

This is what learning becomes when it moves beyond the classroom.

**Learn → Practise → Perform → Mastery**

But today was more than an assessment day.

It was also the **farewell of CEPD EOC-2 Alpha** - a moment to pause, look back at the journey, appreciate the challenges, celebrate the progress and remember the people who made this experience meaningful.

📘 CEPD EOC-2 ALPHA | INTERMEDIATE CLASS ROOM
🎯 FINAL ASSESSMENT - DAY 01
📅 14 September 2026

Learning was put into practice. Pressure was experienced. Confidence was tested.

On 14 September 2026, CEPD EOC-2 Alpha Intermediate Class successfully entered Day 01 of the Final Assessment.

Four sub-assessments were completed through real-life practical assessment activities, giving learners the opportunity to experience the reality of performing under pressure, tension and nervousness and most importantly, to discover how to respond with greater confidence.

This assessment was not only about marks. It was an opportunity to observe, experience, reflect and improve.

💡 An important learning insight emerged:
While a final assessment is valuable, introducing formative assessments at suitable stages during the course may provide earlier feedback, reduce assessment pressure and support continuous improvement before reaching the final stage.

At CEPD, such observations are part of our commitment to Continuous Improvement. Course structures and assessment methods can be reviewed and modified where necessary to further improve quality, learning productivity and learner outcomes.
