Hello, August. šæ
July taught me a lot, and Iām taking those lessons with me into a new month.
Whatās one lesson youāre bringing into August?
If you have to use a groomer, donāt just ask about price or availability.
ā
Ask about their qualifications.
ā
Ask what training theyāve completed.
ā
Ask whether they routinely perform a**l gland expression and what training they have to perform it.
ā
Ask how they handle fearful, anxious, or reactive dogs.
Save these questions. Iāll be sharing them on my Stories.
And one more thingā¦
ā¼ļøIf youāre recommending a groomer to someone, donāt recommend them blindly. ā¼ļø
Recommend them because youāve asked the right questions and understand their qualifications not just because your dog came home looking cute. š¤¦š¾āāļø
The pet industry is still largely unregulated.
Until that changes, pet parents need to raise the standard by asking better questions.

Learn how to supplement with purpose āØāØ
Many pet parents spend hundreds on āpremiumā supplements, then unknowingly feed them with foods that can reduce the absorption of certain nutrients.
More supplements donāt always mean better health.
Whether you have a puppy, an adult dog, or a senior, the goal isnāt to add everything, itās to supplement with purpose and intention.
This is what being a 2.0 Pet Parent looks like: questioning, learning, and making smarter choices instead of following trends blindly.
Your dog deserves more than expensive supplements.
They deserve a plan, one that is thoughtful, smart, and very intentional!

Most small dogs never get bones. š¦“
Because sometimes their humans are either:
⢠Too scared to offer them.
⢠Unsure which bones are safe.
⢠Or theyāve tried before and their dog ended up with diarrhea.
But appropriately sized raw meaty bones are a natural part of a dogās diet and small dogs shouldnāt get left behind.
Bones support dental health, provide bioavailable minerals like calcium and phosphorus, exercise the jaw, and satisfy your dogās instinct to chew.š
If your dog develops diarrhea after a bone, thatās not a reason to avoid bones forever.
It usually means itās time to look at the type of bone, the amount offered, your dogās gut health, or how the bone was introduced.
Raven is very particular about the bones that she will choose, she has never refused the lamb ribs, which is why itās a steady staple, and youād always find it in my freezer
Quality matters.
If youāre feeding fresh, one of the best things you can do is build a relationship with your local butcher.
Know where your dogās food comes from.
Ask questions about sourcing and how the animals were raised. Whenever possible, choose grass-fed meat.
If conventionally raised meat is all you can access or afford, donāt stop feeding fresh.
Instead, be more intentional.
Rotate your proteins, feed a wide variety of whole foods, and prioritise nutrient density to help support your dogās overall health.
Gucho and Raven were raised on pasture-raised meat but since itās no longer available in the UAE grass fed protein is the next best bet!
It costs nothing to be respectful to your butcher or supplier. Those relationships matter. The more you learn from the people sourcing your food, the better choices you can make for your dog.

Am I always out with the doggies ššš maybe! They are after all my BEST friends , honestly, if they could talk, I probably wouldnāt speak to any other human š
Today is also a full moon and the energy just feels amplified. Use this energy today to express gratitude and say it out loud.
On a health related topic - the air is dusty outdoors, and I would definitely skip the evening walk. Dust dirt pollution, all impact lung health. I will share a reel on everything I do to support respiratory health. And how small changes can make a huge difference so stay tuned for that.

Before buying another electrolyte drink - try this first !! And itās good enough for your four legged friends too!
If you want to add an extra punch then manuka honey is a fantastic addition!

I always tell my dogs how lucky they are⦠but sometimes I think about how lucky I am to have them.
We all love our dogs⦠but love isnāt always enough.
They donāt need perfection.
They need us to slow down, listen, learn their language, and understand what theyāre trying to tell us.
Because behind every ādifficultā dog is a dog trying to communicate.
I donāt punish my dogs for communicating. I encourage digging and I make sure I provide outlets for them to be dogs.
They are not robots
Our job is to understand what our dogs are saying and help them feel safe navigating the world.
I honestly had SO much fun filming the video with The K9 Kitchen | Pet Nutrition š¾ Go check it out !!
Everything came so naturally and thatās exactly why I love my page so much. Because right here - you are guaranteed real, RAW (pun intendedš) and authentic living. š
So as I was prepping meals very early today, I thought I would share exactly what I do and how easy it is to feed real fresh food!!!
Raven is enjoying the Complete Camel Recipe The K9 Kitchen | Pet Nutrition , and yes, Iām adding my veggie blend. Why? Because itās made with ingredients that support the bodyās natural detoxification pathways and helps add extra phytonutrients to the bowl.šš
ā¼ļøā¼ļø please always use a kitchen scaleā¼ļø Iāve been doing this for years now ⦠so I can eyeball it Please donāt guess and use the feeding guidelines as a starting point and adjust based on your dogās body condition.
Summer is thriving on her raw diet, and this routine has become second nature in our home. She hasnāt been doing well on beef, so Iām adding beef and lamb recently and sheās doing amazing.ā
