I have listened to an interview by Senator Natasha H Akpoti this morning on Human Right Radio by Ordinary President

..and These are my thoughts.

It is not the parliamentary privilege of Senator Natasha to go abroad on the account of the National Assembly. It is not also her privilege to es**rt the President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio on any foreign work trip. It is also not her privilege to sit on any particular seat in Chamber that she thinks is camera friendly. Finally, it is not her privilege to be the chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content. It is not her privilege to be beholden, catered for or pampered beyond the official perks of the job than any of the 109 senators also enjoy.

If she enjoyed special opportunities before now, that is no longer coming, it was all at the pleasure of the Senate leadership. As she was enjoying them in a house of 109 Senators, there were others as qualified or even better qualified who cheered her on gracefully, a first timer who was still battling in the tribunal as at 13 June 2023 when the Senate President was elected. These colleagues didn't burn down the house. They understood that whatever favour she enjoyed was at the pleasure of leadership and not a parliamentary privilege.

The seat that she is refusing because it doesn't offer a good angle for the camera is still in the chamber and was occupied by a fellow senator before it was assigned to her. The AC in the chamber reaches that seat, the seat also faces the Senate President and it is within the floor of the chamber. I, EmperorWilliams Puneko, cannot sit there if I were to visit the chamber.

The privilege of Senator Natasha are as contained in the rule book of the Senate. It is that she has the right of audience in parliament, she is entitled to be allocated one of the seats meant for Senators in the chamber, she is entitled to be a member of a committee as maybe determined by the Senate President, she can speak once recognized to do so and she is entitled to get paid, own a work vehicle and have aides. Finally, if she returns, she can contest to be Senate President.
