“Connection is why we’re here; it is what gives purpose and meaning to our lives”. Brené Brown Welcome to Conscious Connections! My name is Meg. You grow.

I'm a mum to a fabulous teenager, and a certified Parent Coach. My passion is to accompany and support parents on their journey towards a more conscious and rewarding relationship with their children. Every child is unique, and every parent’s experience is exceptional. And yet, many of us face similar challenges. We get overwhelmed and reactive, we find ourselves repeating old family patterns, and

Last workshop of the year complete: Children's Oasis Nursery welcomed me yesterday with their warm, curious hearts - and sweet, luscious doughnuts. Thank you!

Today, I am allowing myself a moment to breathe, so I’ve upgraded my office to the garden. 💻🪴☕️

Sometimes a change of scenery is all we need to debrief and feel more spacious.

For us Dubai peeps, this is the run-up to the last few days of term - a very exciting one for me this year, with new clients beginning their journeys, and my daughter deep in her big school project. ❤️

Everyone growing in their own way… 🌱

✨ Three inspiring workshops in two weeks! Each of them brought together a beautiful audience of mums and dads - curious, engaged, asking thoughtful questions, and eager to learn. 🌱

Thank you, Home Grown Children's Eco Nursery Al Safa, The English College, Dubai Primary School, and Yellow Kite Nursery ! 🙏🏻

It’s such a joy and privilege to share experiences and conversations that matter. ❤️

🍁 Just a usual day in the office… 🍂

With the weather finally cooling down and the sky turning overcast more and more often, this is the cosy time of the year for me.

I’m feeling deeply grateful to have the space, both literal and metaphorical, to be focused and soothed all at once. To be able to create, connect and support others, while tending to my own sense of comfort and well-being.

There’s something grounding about realising that warmth doesn’t always come from the sun.

Do you sometimes have days when plans go awry? That’s me this week… 🙋🏻‍♀️

My daughter has been sick and off school, and despite the original drive to simply power through, I decided to … not do that…

The result? What was not firmly scheduled, simply did not happen. Instead, after a busy and active half-term break, I had the time and the focus to just be with my child. Just literally be present. I cared for her, and worried a little during high fever spells. And then we just snuggled together on the sofa, with a warm cat, talked about my world and hers, and I’m not ashamed to say — we also watched considerably more movies than we normally do on weekdays…

So grateful for this special time! 🙏🏻 For this unexpected chance to slow down, and for these quiet, ordinary moments that somehow feel like the most precious ones of all. 💛

Have you ever heard that children need your love most when they’re at their worst? How often have you felt your temperature rising too quickly, emotions flooding too powerfully, and wished perhaps things could be just a little bit easier?
⠀⠀⠀
Permission to grant yourself grace and forgiveness… ❤️
⠀⠀⠀
Those moments when our children need us to truly see and accept them are often the very moments when it’s hardest for us to stay present and regulated. No judgment - we’ve all been there.
⠀⠀⠀
Now imagine a world where every child is truly seen, accepted, and loved for who they are, and with all their emotions and struggles. That’s the world I hope we create, one small moment at a time. It starts with us - one mindful choice at a time. 🌟

This is a space for real conversations about parenting: the ups, the struggles, and the tiny wins that keep us going. I share reflections to help you pause and shift old patterns, so you can find more ease, and reconnect with yourself and your child — with joy.

Chestnuts and New Beginnings: Back to School, Back to Us 12/09/2025

📝 🌰 Have you seen my latest blog post yet? 🍁✨

I am musing about autumn chestnuts from my childhood school days, and how they tie into the ups and downs of the first days of a new school year.

I sprinkle in some of my little umbrella tips and gently invite you to reflect and notice how you are feeling this season.

🍂 I’d love to hear how your back-to-school has been this year!

🌧️ Back to School! 🌂

Happy and excited? Celebrate!
Worried and wobbly? You’re not alone!

In this Umbrella Moments mini-series, I’ll share simple ways to support both you and your child through the shift into the new nursery or school year.

💭 What resonates with you? ☀️

29/08/2025

Do you find yourself thinking that summer has only just started? Do you wonder where the time has gone? That’s me!

Or perhaps it seems to you that it lasted forever, and you’re beyond excited to get back into your usual nursery/school/work routine? That’s also me!

It’s the same duality every year, and every year I remind myself that it’s ok to feel both: we are complicated creatures, us humans, and we frequently experience multiple feelings, needs and desires all at once. This is a whole separate topic for another post, though!

For now - welcome back!

I’m curious what the back-to-school experience brought you this year. Joy? Sadness? Relief? Overwhelm? All of the above?

If you’re finding this time of the year mostly thrilling, I cheer for you and hope you get to celebrate it!

And if some aspects of nursery or school adaptation pose a challenge, watch out for the latest Umbrella Moments and Blog post!

💚 Let’s grow - together. 🌱
