Have you ever paid attention to the little voice inside of you? The one that might remind you of your younger self? No matter how old we grow, we carry our younger selves within us day to day.
Perhaps our hurt 5-year-old self shows up when our best friend doesn't answer our phone call, or our misunderstood 15-year-old self comes out when a colleague doesn't see eye to eye. Caring for this younger version of ourselves is what inner child work is all about.

This May Full Moon I will be introducing a profound meditation of Inner Child Healing combining it with Reiki healing and sound frequency to open the chakras and clear the stagnant energy from the cellular memory.

* The process is designed to guide the participants to go inward and connect with their younger selves.
* To explore their true feelings and parts of them that may have been rejected and labelled as "inappropriate" or "too much" by others.
* Peel back their everyday coping mechanisms (being avoidant, numbing our feelings, our habits patterns and limiting beliefs).
* And bring awareness to the old wounds or shadows to initiate healing to the adult self to come to peace with Maitri (Friendship), Karuna (Compassion); Mudita (Pure Joy or happiness) and Upekshanam (Indifference).

Diwali conveys an important message that transcends religions. The victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. This message seems more important with unrest in the world. But it's in the darkest of time, the light of faith makes a big difference.

This Diwali, I Pray your inner light shine ever brighter. May we all work towards our highest purpose through our actions, speech and intentions.

Can we do yoga during our menstruation?
Yoga practice during menstruation is a controversial issue. There are some who say that practice yoga should be avoided during menstruation, others encourage to continue practice as usual.

All women are different with regards to menstruation. Some may not have any side effects, low energy or feel any different than they do during the rest of the month, while others have such extreme pain, mood swings, fatigue, bloating, irritability and so on that they have to stay in bed. Because no woman is the same there are no set rules regarding what to practice during menstruation, but below are few key points to keep in mind.
* Practice poses, which you can stay in longer with comfortable breathing, like supported back bends (alleviated lumbar back) to faclitate deeper inhalation and exhalation and opening at chest /upper back region.
* Supported forward bends, with focus on longer, gentle exhalation.
* A women's awareness and sensitivity is heightened during this time. So it's a good time to practice body scans for sensations and do Yoga Nidra.
* Practicing longer gentle exhalation to activate Apana vayu (descending and stabilising prana). It is the Apana vayu which governs all forms of eliminations from food and water ; to ideas and emotions and is also responsible for supporting the reproduction organs and immune system

*Pranayama such as bhramari (humming bee breath), anulom vilom (alternate nostril breath), ujjayi in exhalation (victorious breath) and /or chanting helps
KEY WORD : Sukham/comfort
BREATH FOCUS : longer gentle exhalation.

Warm water (Ushna jala) have "magical power" and that's is not at all an exaggerated statement. Warmth channel vata (Air) in it's proper direction and water sustains the prana energy (lifeforce).

It is very important to note that warm water is not just warming water- but boiling water and bring it to room temperature before consuming.

Remember it's simple, consistent,  routine that brings holistic changes in body.
How often do you consume warm water? Let me know in the comments.
