Socks & Soles for Syrians

❤️Thanks friends! Socks and Soles bound for Syria. A huge shout out to Bounce for the hundreds of pairs of perfect socks and our forever friend Rabab for making sure they are clean and fresh!

It's just "socks and shoes" until you watch something like this. Whatever you do to help, no matter what it is or how small the deed, you have to know that you are bringing comfort to someone. This is heart-wrenching.

Congratulations going out to Grade 10 student Kimberly Jo-Ela for single-handedly collecting this small mountain of socks bound for Syria! The Gems World Academy student collected at her school and brought in more than 500 pairs of socks. You've got a big humble heart, Kimberly. Thank you! 💚❤️

A day doesn't go by that someone isn't doing something to help in this collection from helper Emily Pescador who meticulously checks over the shoes, to Brigitte Barghout who collects, stores and shares everything, to the drivers who pick up the bags, to our visiting relatives who pack and the steady stream of random teens coming and going carrying boxes and bags into the house. Everybody doing their part.❤️👞

Another Canadian contingent has come through with 300 pairs of Socks for Syrians. Thank you Margaret Hurlbut for spearheading the collection, to Evelyn LeRose for your donation and the many others who sent socks to Margaret. Know they are needed and very much appreciated this chilly winter.

Kudos to Divya Premchand Raisinghani from the Indian High School in Dubai for rallying her classmates and collecting a ton of socks and shoes. We love this young lady's leadership, compassion and drive! Thank you Divya and her supportive dad!

The call for socks heard clear across the globe. 🌍 Thank you to Tracey and the Hagkull family for reaching out to their community in Victoria on Vancouver Island. The colossal effort by the Canadians yielded more than 1000 pairs of mostly brand new socks, hand delivered to Dubai in hockey bags. 🇨🇦

Thank you to the Hagkull's friends and classmates who donated, Blair for bringing them to Dubai and to the Al Hamer family for the special delivery.

Thanks, as always, to our friends at For Syria for today's pick up. Rest assured the socks are in good hands on the finally leg of the journey into Syria. Warm hearts ... warm feet for more than one-thousand people!
