They defy you because they want more control over their lives, even though their actions may not always be in their favor. 🙅‍♀️⁣

🔴 They may talk rudely⁣

🔴 Try to distract you with their disrespectful behavior⁣

🔴 Throw a tantrum⁣

But in each situation you have to:⁣

🟢 Remain calm, gentle, and must relate to how your teens may be feeling at that moment.⁣

Your teens need to:⁣
⁣
🟢 become independent in how they manage their lives, their friends, school, etc.⁣
⁣
🟢 spend time with friends so they can learn to communicate well with everyone.⁣
⁣
🟢 participate in family discussions so they can feel like a part of their family, especially when their opinion is taken seriously.⁣
⁣
🟢 be responsible for their own actions, for example:⁣
⭕ If they're bad at a subject at school, they need to find ways of understanding it.⁣
⁣
⭕ If they have homework and they start playing games instead of finishing that, they need to face the consequences by themselves.⁣
⁣
This is why it's so important for parents to let their teenagers have the freedom to develop themselves so they can lead happy and successful lives! 😊⁣

Here's how you can help your teen stop getting distracted while studying - Ask them to:⁣
⁣
1) Create a schedule. It should be in a [task | date | time] format, and should include break times.⁣
⁣
2) Silence their phone - or even switch it off and keep it in another room to minimize distractions.⁣
⁣
3) Only keep relevant internet tabs open and close all other tabs.⁣
⁣
4) An organized study space is ESSENTIAL! Clutter = Distractions.⁣
⁣
5) Study environment needs to be quiet and avoid noise as much as possible.⁣
⁣
6) Keep snacks and water near them when they are studying, so they don't have to get up time and again while studying.⁣
⁣
Follow these tips so you can help your teen study and excel at school and in life 😎⁣

So here are some easy ways you can keep them motivated on a daily basis:⁣

1) Support your teens in what they like to do as hobbies, be it reading, sports, or music!⁣
⁣
2) Don't just assume that they know, but tell them that you believe in them. Your support means the world to them ❤️⁣
⁣
3) Keep their energy up by letting them get involved in physical activities - football, cricket, running, cycling... anything that keeps them moving.⁣
⁣
4) Healthy habits must be encouraged in your house, for example - 8 hours of sleep, a well balanced diet, cleanliness, etc.⁣
⁣
5) Often we parents tend to focus on the end goal of what our teens are doing. We forget that these teens are just trying to find their path in life, and we need to help them enjoy that process instead of only focusing on the end goals.⁣
