May this blessed month of Ramadan find you more patient, forgiving, and generous. May this time of quiet reflection help you to rediscover your inner strength and potential, and may the seeds of hunger that you sow each night be transformed into the flowers of deep knowledge. A Blessed Ramadan Mubarak🤍💫

🤓
Besides activating almost every muscle in the body from your calves to your quads and hammies to your glutes, hip flexors, abs, oblique's, low back, lats, traps, and even pecs, the yoke carry trains muscles rarely trained in pure powerlifting or bodybuilding programs.

The amount of times I’ve seen these mistakes. An excellent review in order to avoid these KB mistakes and possible injuries.

4 Kettlebell Mistakes to Avoid

The kettlebell swing is a hip-hinge movement but many people perform it as a squat and front raise, which means you’re not targeting the right muscles.

Next time, when performing the kettlebell swing, try to avoid these 4 common mistakes.

Do you ever realize that much of what weighs us down is what wasn’t ours to carry in the first place? Letting go gives us freedom and freedom is the only condition for happiness. The moment i embraced myself again, focused on myself again, took care of me first....everything else started to fall into place✨

Ramadan Mubarak - ‏رمضان مبارك
✨🌙
The word Ramadan has its roots in the Arabic word of ‘Al Ramad’, referring to intense heat and dryness. The word conveys the hardship of fasting as well as the ‘burning’ away of sins by this act of worship.
✨🌙
For the next 30 days, a series of lifestyle changes, at home and work, will take place in the UAE and all Muslims around the world.
✨🌙
A month of spirituality, fasting, charity and sharing. How beautiful is that!
✨🌙
Wishing everyone celebrating this Holy month a Blessed Ramadan Mubarak ✨✨✨

To anyone who watches these loaded carry videos and says ‘Dana you will hurt yourself!’ I want to say thank you for your care and concern 🤗😘 But there is nothing to be concerned about when you have been coached well on the techniques and work your way up the weights gradually with plenty of rests in between. Your concerns inspired this post 🙃

BENEFITS OF LOADED CARRIES!
*
✔️ The first one is simply that when you’re regularly working with objects that weigh much more or that might be designed to be even more cumbersome than their similar real-life counterparts, all of a sudden real life feels like a breeze! 💃🏻
✔️ Supports your spine! Yup! Contrary to what the general public assumes, loaded carries or walks help develop core and spinal supporting muscles and tissues. Having strong core, hips and spinal stability is so vital, not just to to any movement but also plays a large role in injury prevention.
✔️ Increases muscle mass as you’re stressing the entire body (all that time under tension!)
✔️ Fires 🔥 up that central nervous system (CNS)! Something I need to work on! Training the CNS is not just about increased strength and power but also supports breathing and hold/stability when under tension with heavy loads.
✔️ GRIP! Kettlebell training was the first time I noticed some serious grip strength development! I also never needed to train my core (lost it since I stopped this type of training for so long)!
*
In summary, have loaded carries and walks in your program. However, if you’re new to them then be smart and work with an experienced coach 🤓

This year has been quite trying on all of us. Everyone has a story to share, whether effected directly or indirectly.

I myself...experienced great loss this year. Mum past away. I thought losing Dad 4 years ago was tough enough but no.

No one can ever be ready for days like these. All I can share is that the mindset I’ve spent years working on, to always see the light in every situation, especially those most challenging, for there are tremendous lessons in them and the only way to come out of trying times.

I have been in awe in what I’ve seen people around me accomplish this past year, despite the huge set backs for so many. The strength, the patience, the resilience, the forgiveness, the love, the support...

We all sure can emerge from it all and what I’ve learnt is that while we each have the strength to spread our wings and fly, we fly higher when we support each other.

Thank you to friends and family who have supported me in my darkest of days. Thank you for understanding me when I needed to be alone to mourn yet showed up when I needed a listening ear. There was no judgement, you were just there when and how I needed you in those moments. THANK YOU for your loving hearts.

‘No other priority than strength...’

・・・
You can be anything you want. A warrior. An athlete. A hard man or woman ready to handle whatever life throws at you. But you must be strong first.

“Strength is the foundation for development of the rest of physical qualities,” categorically stated Professor Leonid Matveev. It takes priority over all others: endurance, flexibility, etc.

Until one becomes “entry level strong”, e.g., a strict bodyweight military press for men or strict pullups for women, no priority other than strength can be justified for a healthy athlete. Science and experience have taught us that any athlete, even in ultra-endurance sports, who has not built a foundation of strength will fail to reach his or her potential.

Strength has been compared to a glass that can be filled with other qualities. The larger the glass, the more endurance, sport skill, fat loss, etc. can hold.

Be what you choose to be. But be .
