📢 Important Update: New School Admission Age Cut-Off for 2026/27
Attention parents! The UAE Ministry of Education and KHDA have announced a major shift in school admission age cut-offs starting from the 2026–2027 academic year.
For all schools starting in August or September, the age cut-off is moving from August 31 to December 31.
What does this mean for your child?
To enroll for the 2026/27 term, your child must reach the required age by December 31, 2026:
FS1 / Pre-K: Must be 3 years old.
FS2 / KG1: Must be 4 years old.
Year 1 / KG2: Must be 5 years old.
Year 2 / Grade 1: Must be 6 years old.
Key Details to Note:
Existing Students in school: This change applies only to new school admissions. Students already enrolled in school will not be affected and will progress normally.
Students enrolled in Nursery or Early Childhood Centre: Our nursery is supporting you and your child to be fully prepared for the new cut off date in school.
Transition Flexibility: A one-time flexibility option exists for children born between Sept 1 and Dec 31, 2021, who may choose between KG1 or KG2, subject to school readiness assessments.
April-Start Schools: These schools will continue to use the March 31 cut-off date.
